    Default Bay area, California

    Hello there ladies!

I was wondering how it is like dancing in California. In the Bay Area preferably.

Is alcohol served in clubs? Are dancers required to have an adult industry license like in WA state? What are the rules for lap dances and nudity? How much is house usually? I know this usually varies from club to club, but I'm just trying to get an idea how things work there. I've never been to a strip club in the area before.

I might be moving from Seattle and I want to continue dancing. If anyone can be so kind and let me know details.

    Thank you so much!

I'm going to answer this, but keep in mind that my answers are dated.

Alcohol is served only in topless clubs, an not in nude clubs. When I danced there not entertainers license was needed, and I don't believe that has changed. San Fran is a high mileage city, but mileage will very by club. Places like Mitchell Brothers, New Century and a few others are known for having dancers that turn tricks in the club. If you stick to either the Gold Club or the Deja Vu managed clubs on Broadway then you shouldn't have many problems. Tip out really depends on where you are working. I don't remember what it was at Hustler, but it was a lot. The Deja Vu clubs count your dances and take $10 out of the $20 lap dances. I know that sounds bad, but Deja Vu allowed dancers to upsell dances... so it actually wasn't bad and once you learn the system the money is great!

    Good luck!
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Kylie pretty much covered it, but for my two cents...

I don't know where you've danced before, but I found the 'mileage' in (topless) SF clubs very tame compared to what I was used to (in Tampa, Philly and NYC)!

About upselling dances: I suck at that, but still made average-to-great money. I usually just charged the cost of a dance plus the payout, so I could actually keep the whole cost of the dance.

I actually was driving to Sacramento to work right before I left SF...because sometimes I just feel like taking a break and working in a dive where I can be the hottest thing there and make money without having to really try, lol.

^ You don't need a license. You DO need a schedule. That's the big draw back of SF - it's so unfriendly with traveling girls ( even WITH IT, ON TIME, RELIABLE GIRLS like me ) . So ... I was pretending I lived there until my stories ran out.

If you don't mind being scheduled, you'll do fine. I worked at a topless club that was only topless ON STAGE. You wear your dancer outfit during dances. Customers can touch you and yes, some will try to grab a boob if you don't watch them. Most customers have been fine though ( some don't touch you, some of them keep their hands at their sides though thats on the rare side). Charging $20 plus the dance fee is a great idea. I didn't do that, but I will try to if I work again in SF soon.
