    Dizzy Latisse

From the good people that brought us botox, there is now stuff to put on your lashes that make them grow like crazy.

Apparently they found that this glaucoma drug (lumigan?) made peoples lashes grow a lot thicker, darker , and longer. So, now they are repackaging it and selling it for $120 a month as Latisse.

I heard that the only side effect besides irritation is that i could permanenty darken the color of your eyes. They said that it has happened with the drops you put in your eye for glaucoma, but did not happen with any of the testers with latisse since they put it outside their eye (lash base). Still, since its the exact same thing, just different application, its a theoretical risk.

I have green eyes and i dont want them to change. Does anyone know how has tried this stuff or would try it??

I'm curious too. I'm dying to try the eyelash lengtheners! Mascara and eye liner always smudge really bad on me.

My mom uses that, but by a different brand. She has green eyes and it hasn't darkened them and it has appeared to make her lashes grow in thicker, although she doesn't use it consistently.

She did buy it at her plastic surgeon/dermatologist's office after noticing that all of the nurses who took care of her had the longest, thickest, darkest lashes and commented on it. They all told her they used this product and had gotten amazing results. So far, so good. I would try it but am too nervous that it would darken the irises of my eyes.

I just use Castor Oil. My lashes grow pretty fast....

So I've been using Latisse for about 2 months now and my lashes are AMAZING!

One bottle has lasted me for the 2 months, although there are some nights I forget to use it. But even with skipping some applications, I have seen really great results. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I work at a facial plastic surgery office and we just started writing scripts for this over the summer. We have seen great results, but if you have green eyes and don't want them to change, I would say do not do it! The surgeon's daughter has green eyes and she won't do it. Most of our patients who have tried it have brown eyes. Plus, you have to keep using Latisse as long as you want the lashes. The ones that grow will fall out when you discontinue it and at $120/month I think it's ridiculous.

I just noticed I posted on this thread a few months ago. One of my friends who is a doctor and Harvard associate sells Latisse so I decided to try it. He's very informed and said that on blue eyes there haven't been any incidents of the spots showing up in the eyes. My lashes have gotten longer but not by much... on the other hand I am terrible about putting it on every night.

Ive been working on/of for an optometrists office for about 9 years now.
We get alot of requests for Latisse so the dr. surprised me with it this christmas. Im gonna be the "model" for the office. She went to a conference and the Allergan (thats who markets it) representative she spoke with uses it and my boss was AMAZED at this womans lashes.

I have blue green eyes but im one of the weirdos that wouldnt mind brown eyes as i wear brown colored contacts alot anyway. Im not too concerned as the risk of darkening the iris is only about 5% (or lower). I only used it once so far (last night) and i found it very easy to apply. I will keep you posted on my results.

^^^ Why? No need for longer lashes or because of the potential side effects?

Sounds interesting, but not for $120/month! I'll just buy Hypnose mascara. lol

I have been using Enormous Lash for about 3 months now and the results have been very good. The main ingredient is the same as in Latisse, called proteglandin. Unfortunately I'm talking about Enormous Lash, the old version. They recently reformulated Enormous Lash and it no longer contains proteglandin and based on reviews I've read on several web sites does not work nearly as well. As soon as I'm done with the EL I'm going to either Latisse, or LiLash, which is another product people are raving about.

Ive been using latisse for around 4 months now and I love it! the price scared me at first and I didnt believe it would work but it does. One bottle also lasts me 3-4 instead of 1 month, so its a lot cheaper too...

Too bad it has that potential side effect. I have really, really blue eyes and there is no way I would risk darkening them.

^^^ I asked my doctor about that (who is also a personal friend and associate professor at Harvard), he said the chance of spots and darkening in blue eyes is actually a lot less likely. The cases that were reported were seen in dark eyes.

I just get nervous about side effects! But I don't judge anyone who tries this out, I hope it works for them.
