Default Macau: new club in the Venetian

I didn't notice any new posts on Macau. There's a club opening up in the Venetian in the summer 2009 according to http://www.thebestdancers.com/strip_club_info5.php.

I've sent an application and got a response and now need to send my passport info and stuff, but I was wondering if anyone else is planning to work here? I'll be touring around Asia for the next year anyway so thought it'd be a good stop for a couple of months to work and save up some money to continue my travels.

If you're not planning on working there, has anyone been to Macau recently? What is it like? Is it all glitz and glam and what are the people like?

this looks really cool. i want to come!!

yeh going overseas to work does sound a bit scarey though.

Being that i am used to living in florida, i personally love the vibe of clubs that are in places like this. Everyone is so laid back and not on the whole hustle tip. I really hope some girls respond with some tips. I would go!!!

I was seriously considering of going, now having seen how little non-westernized Chinese men spend in strip clubs here in Melbourne, I have my doubts. They sit with a beer or no drinks at the back, never tip the stage and girls that have the patience (they rarely know a word in English...) to try and haggle with them, claim it's only possible to make them spend on dances if you cut a deal like take 5 of them for $100 and give them each a mini-show...

Still since the Macau club will pay you a daily wage that covers house fees, accommodation and basic meals, it might be a good stop for girls traveling, and who knows maybe the Macau vibe will make the Chinese spend wildly and maybe there are some tourist business??! Only downside though is that prostitution is rife according to a feature in Australian Penthouse magazine..it claimed that you can get two girls for about $100...dances will I think be priced at $70 with the club taking a 40% cut...some guys willl def do the math there!

It looks pretty nice... but I'd want to see the place before committing. Going out of the country to a new club that doesn't have references is not my cup of tea.

i'm taking the fact that janet hasn't responded to any of my emails about macau as a bad sign.

I spoke with her on Tuesday over the phone about Macau. Apparently, the club isn't opening until October. I think previously it was supposed to open like May? I am not sure on that I just think I recall seeing May on thebestdancers.com website. Anyways, she was pretty picky about the pictures I sent in. The pictures I sent it were fine for the other destinations, but apparently not enough for Macau. She wanted more glamourous looking photos. I also didn't realize until further reading that you have to pay for your airfare and they reimburse you later. I can understand that because I am sure they don't want to get scammed or anything, but I do not have the money for that right now. So, if I decide to do this it will be much later on. Maybe by then, there will be some reviews.

Hi. I'm new here, but I felt I must comment on the Macau club. I suggest that you do not go there. As mentioned above, prostitution is legal there and it is rampant. The prostitutes there have pimps and there is a lot of human trafficking, meaning girls are kidnapped and forced into prostitution. There are gangs there that run these rings. The prostitutes operate openly in the casinos.

Here is a video showing the girls at work in one of the popular hotel/casinos. They must keep walking back and forth until someone takes them to a room.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svIMePEtBGs

Here is a Trip Advisor review of the Venetian Hotel/Casino stating, "Unless you like prostitution don't go here."
    http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...au_Region.html

This is a collection of articles that pertain to human trafficking in Macau:
    http://http://gvnet.com/humantrafficking/Macau.htm

The owner of my club visited the Venetian in Macau and said, "Right there in the lobby many Eastern block girls kept walking around in a circle. They were obviously prostitutes. They looked very sad. I suspect they were not there by choice."

Going to Macau will be a major risk to your safety. Even though the add on Best Dancers said your housing would provide security, you are not guaranteed safety when you venture outside.

    ^^

Thanks a lot. I've always wondered about Macau but I doubt I'd get approved to work there (brown-skinned, tattoos, etc). I'm glad to hear a more honest review of it. I'm not surprised Janet does her best to dress it up.

Ive used janet in the past to come to Vegas and the accomadations were perfectly safe. I now live here and am really considering Macau. I do well off Asian men here and make $ even tho prostitution is perfectly legal in Vegas as well.

But...Im still apprehensive- Ive never been to Hong Kong or Macau before and am nervous to go alone

Prostitution is not legal in the city limits of Las Vegas. Only in Nevada out of the city.

Does anyone know about culture in Hong Kong around tattoos? I have several large ones and I'm not sure if it would be an issue. Just kinda curious... I'd definitely wait until I heard from someone else who has traveled there before jumping on the plane!
