Default Time to come out from hiding

Alright, so ive been lurking on here for some time now trying to learn as much as i can. As we all know, "the economy is bad" and jobs are hard to find. ive been doing little odds and ends and nothing is working. I have a car that i refuse to loose, so its time to suck it up and venture out. Even though I love strippers, the stripping aspect is not for me. I figure that being a waitress is more my style.

Problem is...I have never waitressed a day before in my life. I'm starting this dead broke, not even a penny to my name. Not sure if clubs provide waitress outfits or not. (im located in orlando btw) I'm not exactly stick thin either, but i doubt this will be much of a problem being a waitress.

I just need some advice on clothing and what i should expect. Thanks in advance girls.

    mwah!
heres some pics of me...tell me what you think.

No offense, but if you have no interest in stripping, then why are you posting this on a stripper board?

Will you be waitressing in a strip club?

Some clubs require a uniform of sorts and will charge you for it. One of my students was waitressing in a SC and her outfit was something around $250. I think they let her work it off - I don't remember.

I don't know much about waitressing...all I really know about is the pet peeves dancers have regarding waitresses.

-Don't hustle guys while you're waitressing. You aren't a stripper. I know you're trying to make tips too, but it fucking sucks when I'm naked on stage and I see a fully-clothed waitress diverting a customer's attention from the show he actually came there to see.

-Wait to make sure that the strippers aren't hard-selling guys before you come up and ask if he wants for a drink. Read body language, etc. I fucking HATE it when a waitress ruins my hustle by coming up to us at the perfectly wrong time.

-Make sure the dancer on stage isn't currently dancing in front of a customer before you go up and offer him drinks. It's so embarrassing when I'm doing my little dance in front of a guy, and the waitress comes up and completely distracts him. Makes me look stupid and boring. And it feels degrading. Like I'm not interesting enough to compete with a drink.

Those are just a few things I came up with! Haha, I don't mean to sound too bitter, but I figured those tidbits might fit under the umbrella of the advice you were looking for.

most clubs will have you wear some sort of sexy outfit, usually black, like a short skirt and a low cut top. some places require heels or heeled boots, other places flats are okay.

call around to the clubs in your area and see if they need waitresses or door girls, and when/if they say they're hiring, ask what the dress code is.
"If she wants to dance and drink all night, well there's no one that can stop her. She's going til the house lights come up or her stomach spills onto the floor. This night is gonna end when we're damn well ready for it to be over, worked all week long, and now the music is playing on our time. Yeah we do what we do to get by, and then we need a release!" - Against Me!, "Thrash Unreal"

You're beautiful and, judging by your writing, I'm guessing you're not a moron, so I'm sure you'll do fine. Cocktailing is easy, especially if you're working at a non-alcohol club.

If it is an alcohol club, then all you really need to know is how to upsell. Somebody orders a vodka martini, and instead of just bringing them cheap well vodka, you try to sell them something more expensive. The weakest way to do that is to say "what kind of vodka do you want?" and let them answer. The best way I know of is to suggest a popular expensive brand by saying "Grey Goose vodka?".

I would make it a point in the interview to mention that, even though you've never waitressed before, you understand upselling as you've researched the job.

If they don't provide uniforms, you could always borrow something from a friend or try goodwill for dirt cheap clothes. Also, wear stockings or your shoes will rip up your feet. And always offer to send some dancers over to customers who tip well. The girls will love you for it, and some of them will tip you for it.

Very very helpful. Thank you for your advice.
