Duh Customers asking for my number

So I obv flirt with custys to make $, everynight there are a handfull of guys who think I like them and of course want to "take me out"

...Dont even get me started on how stupid you have to be to think a strip club is a place to pick up girls...

    Anyways... (sorry little rant there)
I'm running out of things to say. Do I just say like oh give me your # or give them the # to the club..? (Litterly thats my #... my work number...)

What works for you? How can you manage to not give the # but get them to continue spending?

I say "Darlin I'd have to get to know you a lot better before anything like that ever happened. I just feel more comfortable talking to you inside the club, please understand."

I use the above two too.... I tell em it'll get me in trouble... or that I'm just trying to be safe.
Usually, the ones who try to get my number and insist when I say I can't are the younger ones.. I guess they think that because we are around the same age they actually have a chance with me... who knows. I don't bother too much with em cuz 90% of the time they don't spend any money.

    You have a few options.

Give them the club's number on the club's biz cards. Write your days and hours on it.

Get a work line, like a pager or prepay cell. Give them that number. You dont have to answer it unless you know its a GOOD customer. Or get a work email account and give them that.

Or say straight out. "I dont give out my number to customers." I dont see any point in lying about the reasons. Excuses will only make them say, "Im not like these other losers here, you can trust me." anyway. Don't apologize, don't sound like you can be argued with.

Some days I was an absolute bitch and said, "I only give my number to guys who spend money." It puts everything in perspective for the customer. The ones who bother you for your number are usually the ones who dont spend.

Believe it or not, they may ask for your number, but they probably wont call. They just do it for bragging rights.
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.

If you're having a party and need strippers, email me with the details and any questions you have. Thanks!

I second those! I suggest the biz card idea if you really want to blow the guy off. TIP: keep them in your purse or whatever you carry around the club all ready to go so it looks like your own biz card. Also, you can just hand these to guys randomly to help boost your biz!

If you wanna go the work cell idea you can get a cheap prepaid cellphone at almost any drug store. I would leave it off and just put your work schedule on the voice mail. I know many girls that send texts to custies with their work schedule for the week. It could actually work out to help you make $ this way!

Unless it's a regular that I trust, I've never given my number out to a customer. I just tell them that the club doesn't allow me to give out my number, but I can take theirs instead.

i think it's proactive to get a cell you use strictly for your club custies. you can make business cards with that number and your myspace account. you can have a myspace set up to include your schedule and some attractive pix . you should keep a list of good customers and give them a buzz or send an e-mail when business is slow...you could just say "my schedule today at work is pretty mellow and i could spend some quality time with you!" You can also add a wish list with a link to amazon or some of your favorite shopping websites so your customers can come into the club armed with a gifty to make you smile!!!(if it's an item of clothing, you can get a photo of yourself and e-mail it to him if that's cool...isn't it great living in this technologically advanced era)...couldn't hurt, right? When I first started I never gave out my number, then a couple years later I started giving it out hoping to get more repeat customers. I have never once gotten a call from anyone asking when I am working. They will always take the number and blow up your phone to see what you are doing, ask you out to lunch/dinner. I still have customers from 3 years ago that will randomly decide to blow up my phone asking for "Julia" (stage name).

It's not worth it. You give out your number it's like being at work when you don't have to be. I just tell them that I used to give it out, but customers do not understand that it is strictly business. I am there to work and I like to leave work in the club, not take it home with me. Of course I say it in a nicer way though haha. I always use the word "fantasy" too, that way they might understand for a minute that strip clubs are not the real world.

^^which is why I suggested getting a unique # just for your biz that you don't really turn on with VM stating your work schedule. IF you should choose to return a call, make sure you do so from the biz #!

Exactly. No one is intruding on your personal life if you get a separate number. After dancing for 3 years never giving out my number/email to customers (whether they spent or not) I realised I was missing out on alot future business. Is everyone going to call/come back to the club? No. But I had guys call months later saying they are in town and want to know what club I am at.

Furthermore, you can just toss the phone when you leave the business.

Nowadays, you have be creative to keep your customers.

If you do feel like the guy is worth keeping in touch with, either ask him for his card and tell him you'll contact him when you get a chance in your busy schedule,or give them your email (try not to give them one with your real name showing, even better if you make one especially for customers)...That's what I've always done at least.

I tell them that I don't give out my number, but if they give me their number I'll let them know when I'm working again.

That cuts to the chase that I am there for a reason and it is not necessarily their pleasure.

If they are from out of town I send them to my website and they can contact me through email.

Yup, I have considered numerous times a business line...but I figured it would always be off because I hate talking to customers on my own time. I'd only use it during work hours. So the business phone idea was never for me. If they are really persistant about getting my number I tell them to call the club and ask if I am working.

Oh and I used to have a free number that I'd give out privatephone.com, which is no longer around. I just put a recording on it every week with my schedule. I have a business myspace now. Myspace is good advertisement too.

I give them my stripper email, which usually makes them happy because it's better than nothing, and I actually do respond, which makes them happier. And sometimes it gets them to come back to find me, which is the best case of all.

I have an email address for work, but no extra cellphone (yet). The vast majority of guys who ask for my number just want to date/have sex wth/have the number for bragging rights. The one or two that have spent sizable amounts of money before asking have the email address and are fine with it.

I pointedly tell them that "my cellphone is turned off, and I'm pretty much living at work to pay to get it turned back on... maybe by *insert next day I work* it will be back on?" Surprisingly, this subtlety/obvious-bullshit seems to actually get the point across, because guys I say this to frequently come back and spend more without asking for my number again.

These are excellent ideas! I don't know about the business card thing though, if I did it would have myspace/email/number. but isnt the whole point making the customer feel special that he actually got a strippers # and possibly come back? handing them a business card probably wouldnt achieve that goal..

Never tryed the business card thing- i mean who knows who will see it there after?
My rule of thumb is to keep this job as private as possible. It is doing you a favor and your better customers one too.

I give my number out to guys who are big spenders. Thats all. Having a separate line is good for this situation too though as even good customers can turn into psychos. The biggest spending customers that i have ever had always had my number. How else can i tell them when i am working next???? Keeping a set schedule is bullshit. You want to go in when your customer is available- as that is when he feels comfortable hanging out all night (most guys with money have jobs and or wives) so he will spend the most money.

As for the rest of them- tell them you forgot your number cus its new. They can give you theirs if they want to. Or just walk away. I personally think its rude when the guys hanker after getting your number. Unless they know for sure that you like them a lot then its just annoying.

When I had myspace I gave them my work myspace link. Now i just tell them I got in trouble last time.

I do parties outside of work however, so some guys will get my number if they are regulars.

    brilliant. I'm so using this.

My usual response is something like "I won't give out my number b/c I've had some really bad experiences in the past. Thanks so much for being understanding and not pressuring me."
