Default Weight loss before or during stripping?

Ok, so here's the deal. I would really like to get starting stripping as soon as possible, the problem is that I really need to lose about 20 pounds in order to look good for my height. However, i'm having a pretty hard time with that. I don't really know where to exercise since I don't have a gym membership. I have heard that stripping is a great workout, so my question to you is: Do you think i could lose 20 pounds rather quickly combining pole-dancing and dieting? The only problem with this is the audition part. Maybe I am not thin enough to be hired, and to be hired I would have to lose the weight first... I'm planning on applying at a little club in Kansas, so it's not like it's a terribly upscale place, or anything. Here is an image of what I look like now (ignore the silly dress, lol)---> http://fc94.deviantart.com/fs38/f/20...pink_knees.png Please share any input you have on this matter

although i can't see too much of ya due to the dress you have on in the pic (which is very cute btw), i personally don't see a problem with your weight and think that you look very attractive at your current size, from what i can see. i might add that you have a very cute face with a very unique look.

i havent started yet, but have been practicing at home (dancing, haven't began learning pole yet) and it is a workout in itself...i have noticed that a great deal of "stripping moves" are similiar to the type of movements done in pilates, and considering the fact of you will be moving and shaking all nite, i'm sure anyone of anysize would definitely see big changes in their body.

if you are comfortable enough with you appearance, even though you want to lose some weight, consider starting now...if you feel you would be more confident and motivated after you lose weight, then wait...and like anything else, dont get discouraged right away...if you don't get hired right away, keep at it...most everything is worth a second, third, fourth try if it is important to you.

the closer the time comes for me to go for that first audition, the more i am realizing that confidence is of the utmost importance, regardless of how good you look or what you weigh.

    go get 'em!

Don't worry about loosing the weight first, especially if it's a smaller club or you're starting on dayshift. I'm still struggling to loose my baby weight. I'm 163 at 5'9 and I guess that's normal, but I still have a long ways to go before I feel good about myself. This time around (after my second baby) it's been SO hard loosing the weight. So I just do dayshift. There are all shapes and sizes on dayshift, whereas nightshift is usually a little more cookie cutter stripper look. There's a lot less pressure on looks during dayshift, and you can definitely loose the weight stripping. Unless you're me, of course! For some reason I can't get below 160.

well you look great, IMO.... and I hope you know that appearance is only part of how much money you make, personality and attitude are way more important. Since I started dancing four years ago, my weight has changed, only because I am more aware of it. Due to my alcohol use at work, I haven't lost weight because of dancing.

My best advice to you: Drink LOTS of water, like a gallon a day at least. This is not as easy as it seems, but is great to for quick weight loss. Also, cut out the dairy (as much as possible) as well as the red meat. Also, Jillian Michaels 30 day shred is AWESOME, for weight loss and toning your muscles.

You can say that again.. not just on here but men in general. Guys are so damn lame, the only way they can halfway make up for it is by opening their wallets.

It is a pretty small club and I was planning on working the dayshift to start out with, so that's good! And I love your icon

I think you're very pretty!!! No need to lose weight.

Pole is great cardio - you'll start toning up and you'll notice weight loss too. (along with bruises and sore muscles.)

If you like try to learn a few pole tricks like spins or climbing - these things build muscle fast.

Good luck!! You are totally adorable and so pretty - you'll do great!!!

I'd definitely wait. Not saying this based on your looks, just my personal experience, so take it with a grain of salt.

The #1 factor in how much money you'll make is confidence. You could be a '10' looks-wise, and without confidence in your appearance you still won't be able to succeed in this business. If you're thinking that you need to lose weight and asking others if you do, then obviously you're not totally comfortable with your body. And you probably won't be until after you've gotten down to the weight you want to be.

Save yourself the misery and awkwardness of trying to fake it when you're not actually happy with your body. Dancing can be extremely lucrative and even great fun, but only when you're totally confident with yourself.
