    Question Fargo in May

I'm being booked right now for Club Northern in Fargo. The soonest they can book me is the beginning of May, and I was wondering if anyone has experience working there in the Springtime? I know they are supposed to be busy in the winter, but what about when it starts getting warm out?

I'll be paying about 800 for a flight and car rental for two weeks (I'm from Detroit and I can't live without a car). I am a hustler, tall blond big boobs, so I think I would do well there. but... I was hoping to get there sooner than may. sooo... is it still worth it?

I used to drive to Fargo from Eugene Or and make a several week trip through the region. There are clubs in the region that will pay you a base rate and The Northern will provide housing for like $5 a day. You don't really need a car because the Dorm is just a few blocks from the club, and you can always catch a ride w/ the manager. Most services are within walking distance (banks, stores etc.).

The reason why the Northern books so far in advance is because they really limit their roster of girls so that everyone scheduled has a reasonable chance of making decent money.

You may want to call every week (if you are available) to check to see if there have been any cancellations. Girls cancel bookings all the time, and being available makes the manager's scheduling job that much easier.

ETA: I just mapped it and you are only about 2 days drive from Fargo. Driving in May should be a cinch, then you don't have to rent a car or buy plane tickets. Aim to reach BFE Wisconsin on the first day driving. Rural hotels are safer and cheaper than staying in Urban areas. The Northern will allow you to stay in the dorm the day before you booking starts if you make arrangements prior. It's kind of nice being the first one in the dorm, then you can check out your roommates are they arrive for their booking. Oh, and you can request a particular room. They assign rooms and roommates if you don't have a travel buddy. It is best to travel in pairs when making these long bookings. It gets lonely when traveling alone all the time.

Thanks for the suggestion Paris, but there is NO way my car is going to make a two day drive. (bad trans and leaking radiator fluid)

However, I will email to see if there have been any cancelations.

The car is probably a waste of money. The cab ride to and from the club is five dollars. You could rent a car for a day to get groceries or something, but you really aren't going to need to drive that much in Fargo. I barely used my car.

As for the dorms, you can either have a room for 100-120/week, or a cot in the general dorm area (in the open, but everyone's pretty good about being quiet in that area) for 25/wk. If you have anything super valuable that you want secure, the club is more than happy to hold it for you in their safe until you want it back. I kept most of my earnings in their safe because someone claimed they had money go missing.

My traveling friend worked in Fargo last fall. She relayed the same info to me almost verbatim about her experiences there. She told me not to bother trying to make the trip up there until the fall. Also to really make a trip up north profitable to run a circuit between Heartbreakers in Williston and the northern so you can stay for a month skipping back and forth. To justify your travel expenses. Also take the train Milwaukee and busses between clubs. Cars have a short life span in roughneck towns. Think drunk hillbillies slamming in to you.

So it's not worth it to go to these clubs in the summer?

Fargo is BOOMING right now! Engineering jobs (mostly men) are being created because they found oil or something there. Which is probably why it took 3 months to get booked. I just graduated w a degree in engineering, but I like dancing...maybe I should head up thay way and figure out what to do when I get there. Lol

*This summer will be very different than any past summer there. *

I've been going up to Fargo for three years now, and every year has gotten worse in terms of summers. There's money there still, but they're booking so many girls at the Northern that it's tough to get a booking, and then everyone is getting a smaller slice of the pie. The new girls they're bringing in are doing dirtier dances, and they've chased away a lot of the great spenders because the customers felt like they were being treated like wallets/the dancers were being rude. The atmosphere has really changed.

Also, the club is being sued so there will probably be big changes once that's over with, and it's not going to be good for the dancers. In this case it's girls who got fired for legit reasons trying to get a pay day at the expense of everyone else because if there's one thing the Northern does, it's treat you like an IC rather than an employee.

I still come up here because I feel more relaxed working here than in MPLS, but overall I can see this club changing, and not for the better. I'll probably stop dancing regularly by next year.

As for engineering, I would highly recommend checking out the job market here. DO NOT dance here if you want to consider getting an engineering job. It's such a small city that if you dance here someone at your job may recognize you. Most of the local girls who dance at the Northern are actually transplants. LOCAL local girls usually don't dance here, but will drive to SD to work because they don't want everyone to know they dance. So keep that in mind if you're seriously considering finding an engineering job around Fargo.
