    Default Getting over nerves

Hi ladies! I'm new to this site, and have been reading a lot on here. You all have such great advice! It has been sooo helpful!

So I'm wondering how nervous some of you were on your first day ever stripping? I do get pretty nervous when I try something for the first time, start a new job, etc. So I know I'll get over it, I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of things I can do to calm my nerves for the first or first couple of times I go to work??

    Thanks!

Oddly enough, I wasn't nervous at all despite my total lack of experience being naked.

Try to brainwash yourself into thinking "This is a JOB." Try to take the personal mentality out of it. Your body is a tool. You are going to make money with it. When you go onstage, you aren't getting naked in the personal sense. You are there to audition for a job...and you are going to get the job!!!

I'm not saying this is how you should view stripping or anything...but I think that this mentality was the reason why I wasn't nervous for my audition. I was there to get a job. That was my purpose. Getting nervous wouldn't help me at all, so I kind of just banished those feelings. I know that's a super pragmatic way of looking at it, but hey...it worked for me.

    Good luck! Keep us updated.

That's good advice. That's kind of how I've been tryin to make myself look at it. Did you ever practice in front of anyone, to get used to taking your clothes off for someone? I've never even stripped for my man! Lol

It's so odd, I love being on stage and performing but I got terrible butterflies the first time before I stripped! About 1 minute into it though the butterflies were totally gone and I was really into in. Now I just love performing!

You could try gathering a group of friends to help you out by playing the "audience".

A lot of people will suggest having a drink beforehand, but I don't. Personally, I think if you need a drink to get up on stage and strip, then you just shouldn't be stripping! Some dancers make that first drink habit and soon they are drunk all the time... which isn't really safe when you are on stage in heels.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

Yeah, the thought of having one to get me started is tempting, but i DEF dont want to get into the habit of relying on it every time I get up there. Gosh, I envy your courage and confidence!

You know, maybe I'm weird, but I wasn't nervous the first time I stripped on stage. Not at all. I didn't go on stage until after I had already done several lap dances, and after doing those, everything else seemed easy.

I was INCREDIBLY nervous about just going into the club and checking it out, though! It seemed like such an alien environment, I was all alone, and I had no idea what I was getting into. I was also nervous about the other girls--like, that I would accidentally piss somebody off.

For my first job, though, I didn't actually have to audition. I just came in, was told that I was hired, and sat at the bar filling out paperwork and watching the girls dance. And it dawned on me that what they were doing wasn't that hard. Just kind of wiggling around in a sultry way. Cocky me, I even thought, "I could do that better."

So, I don't know if you've checked out the club you're interested in working at yet, but when you do, it may give you a confidence boost. Maybe you could find a club where you don't have to audition on stage to be hired.

No. I'd never even taken my shirt off in front of a significant other. I was 18, and I'd never even been in a bar...much less a strip club.

I was nervous going there and talking to the manager etc, because I'd never been in a strip club before either and I was all alone. But reading up on StripperWeb first gave me a lot of info on how to handle myself, and then the second I took my top off on stage for the first time I was absolutely fine!

It's normal to be nervous hun, but it'll go away real quick once you get started!

Honestly I still get the butterflies. Especially if I've taken a few too many days off. What I have learned to do is just ride through the feeling. It's just an uncomfortable feeling that goes away once I get inside the club and active. So now I think of the butterflies as kind of a hunger pain- something uncomfortable but natural that my body goes through but it eventually goes away. Once I actually step into the club the majority of the nervousness goes away, for some reason it's most intense as I'm getting ready for work at home.

I dont think I have to audition on stage for this club, so that's a HUGE reflief. I mean, I've sang and acted in front of really large crowds, so I'm sure I can get over this. I just hate those butterflies! LOL Thanks for your feedback ladies. SW has totally made me feel more confident about this whole thing.

Don't worry hun, you'll do great! I didn't have to audition either which was such a huge relief! Just go in their looking super-hot and they'll love ya! The night I went, I was about ready to just drive back out the parking lot and be like "screw it", but my friend was like "get your ass out the car, I didn't drive you all this way for nothing!!"....I'm so glad he did

If you wanna PM me or anything to keep in touch about how it's going, feel free!

I was so nervous wondering what in the hell I was supposed to do to entertain these people that I literally shook! haha. The entire thought of being undressed didn't bother me at all, strangely enough. I just didn't want to get out there and freeze up with nothing to do!
