    Default I need some help...

Okay, I have been having difficult losing a lil bit on one part of my body. Below the stomache, in the upper "downstairs" area. that little gut. It bugs the hell out of me, because no matter what i do exercise wise it doesnt seem to go down that much. Can someone please give me a good exercise in which to work it? I would do anything...lol. Just give me some much needed feedback, and I will be greatly appreciated.

My first question is, have you had a baby? If you have, there could be damage to the muscles that can only be fixed by surgery. Some women just end up with the little pooch on the lower stomach after giving birth. If this is your situation really only a tummy tuck will bring back you flat tummy.

If you have never had a baby, stomach fat is directly related to eating too many simple carbs. This means sugar of any kind, bread, white rice, crackers, pasta, boxed breakfast cereal, chips, and pretty much any food that is eatable straight from a package.

Go for complex carbs like fresh veggies and fruit (not canned, but frozen is okay), brown rice, whole potatoes, beans of any kind, corn on the cob, popcorn, oatmeal, Bulgar wheat, barley and other whole grain foods.

Also avoid traditional cooking oil and use cold pressed olive oil or cold pressed grapeseed oil for cooking and baking. Your body is able to use the healthy nutrients in these products. The clear oils like canola or safflower are so heavily processed that the human digestive track can't deal with it and turns it into fat and contributes to obesity, heart disease and diabetes.

Don't be afraid to buy real butter (organic is best). It is far superior to margarine when it comes to human consumption. Butter still is high in calories, but it won't kill you like trans fats will.

^^ No i didnt have a baby (i have had 2 miscarriages though, would that affect them, or not so much?). Im still a bit bigger, got some more inches to burn off. First off, I know I still have lots to lose, but that area has always me no matter what i looked like. I dont eat that much processed well anything, & i kno i have to start eating more, because i eat shit for nothing now. I love veggies so those will work, and fruit is off the hook. So, that area will like come off naturally as I continue working out. Thanks, i didnt know that. Heehee, i appreciate it...

^^ They say you have to eat 3 meals a day or something... I think that would hinder my weight lose, I mean because thats more calories you are putting back into your body. Im like sitting here thinking like damn, that aint gonna work. Im just exercising my butt off on my pole, till i get more toned.

There's no such thing as toning. There's muscle and fat, either you have muscle or you don't, and you have fat covering that muscle or you don't.

Paris gave you pretty good advice. Abs are all about your diet, it doesn't matter what sort of exercises you do, if you're diet isn't good, your abs won't look good.

Eating 6 times a day would be better than 3. You need to lose bodyfat, not weight. Starving yourself will work short term though, so if that's what you want to do, who am I to judge.

No, thats not what I want to do. I jus never feel hungry, is it okay to eat even when you're not hungry? Thats true, i do need to lose body fat not weight. I always thought of it as the other way around. I do have muscles, but i do need more in my stomache area. I know Paris gave me good advice, and i am going to start doing that. She is really good at giving advice like that.

make sure you eat at least 3 times a day, but 5 or 6 smaller meals through the day is better because it aids your metabolism...basically if you stop eating, your metabolism slows down as the body tries to conserve energy...

a female should never eat less than 1300 calories a day. your body needs that energy to operate. eating less than than this is unhealthy and unsafe...no matter if you are trying to lose weight or not...

make healthier food choices, take a multivitamin, and get at least 30 minutes of cardio at least 5 days a week and incorporate weight or strengh training 3-5 days a week. do not waste your time on 'target toning'...yes maybe spend a little extra time if you have a problem area, but dont just focus on one area and ignore the rest. total body training is going to have the best results, health wise and appearance wise.

I do take a multi vitamin, and i usually run about an hour in the morning. usually like 4 times a week, sometimes sometimes more. I asked my little sister to help me with weight training since she knows a lot more then I do about it. I don't really ignore the rest, i just focus a little more attention to one spot, but i do hit the others. Thank you for the advice.

there is a pilates exercise that targets that specific lower ab area....I'll try to describe how to do it...

lay on your back and make sure your back is pressed into the floor, lift your legs straight up while they are together and held straight so that you make an L shape with your body (legs sticking up in the air). Slowly lower your legs toward the floor but don't let them touch the floor. While you do this, keep the core tight and don't move your hip area. You should exhale as you move the legs down. Then, inhale the legs back up to the L shape, slowly. Keep doing this 10x, take a break, and repeat. You can do a similar exercise with one leg at a time. The key is to keep your core tight and pressed toward the floor.
