    Default Does anyone know...

where i can get a cheaper then an xpole pole, but that is also almost as sturdy as that is. I want to buy a different pole for at home, but I am not able to spend 300+ at the moment on a new pole. Does anybody know any good poles that might be a little bit cheaper. I know its a weird question, but I want a dancers insight on it, instead of regular customer reviews. Thank you ladies.

^^I have looked up the Lil Mynx Pole, does anyone know if they are good?

I was complaining about the same thing to my bf, and he's very DIYish and now he's set on getting some stuff from Lowes, and making me a pole for like $50

^ yeah , thats what i have too, a "loews pole". just measure your room height, and have them cut a metal/brass pipe to those specifications minus the bearings. to attach it, look in the same section they slip on to the pole and then screw onto your ceiling and floor. its hard to explain, but you'll know it when you see it. i think its actually sturdier then the other poles, and yup , like $50.
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

LM powder coated colored poles start at 220 ish. They are good poles, very grippy - too grippy much of the time. I found that the LM ate through the ceiling joist though leaving a quarter sized hole in the ceiling. The pole can never be placed there again as the joist is compromised.

This will go for the My Sexy Pole (120-150) - which is a much cheaper version of the LM. The My Sexy pole bolts to the ceiling in the same way and is chrome coated. This will be close to what you use at the club if you use stainless steel. If you use brass then this pole will be much slippier.

You can check craigslist - sometimes you'll get a decent deal on a pole but most of the time poles retain their value.

If you choose a Lil Mynx or My Sexy Pole - be sure to bolt the bottom to the floor as well this will save your ceiling joists. These poles are great for inverting, climbing and advanced work - not so great for big momentum spins.

Good luck. If you a DIY - there are a few pole plans out there or you can always check www.youtube.com/poledancefan - he made his own pole and walks you through the materials to buy and how to set it up.

Hey angel check out poledancefan on www.youtube.com he built his own pole.

I've never danced on a homemade pole. I know that the materials are different - like as far as I know you cannot walk into Lowes and get stainless steel or brass. However you can get a pole and even paint if you like for added stick.

Why don't you also check out mark star - they specialize in brass and stainless steal tubing and you can buy everything you need for a permanant pole there as well. I am guessing it will be more expensive but worth a try

Thank you, does it show how he bolts it down or something. It has to be bolted to be sturdy right, does it show how they do that? I will check it out...

The Carmen Electra one i heard is unstable. You have to screw it into the ceiling and stuff, but i will also look into it.

i like it - it has decent grip and its very stable cause mine is bolted to the floor and ceiling, and they had a couple options at loews in terms of pipe material
