    Default Tummy Tuck in Mexico

    Hello,
Ive made up my mid to get a tummy tuck and I think Ive made up my mind on the plastic surgeon-dr fuentes in tijuana mexico. Based on all of my research, he seems to be an amazing dr and im excited. My main concern is the travel to and in mexico. I know there's been all this news on the dangers of traveling and the drug cartel. I desperately want to get a tummy tuck, but not if it means taking a chance of not returning back home. Has anyone traveled there recently? Can anyone fill me in on the conditions of the crossing the border(tijuana) and the zona rio area? I am planning to go with a girlfriend and drive from san diego to Tijuana.
    Thanks

Dr. Fuentes did my tt in April of '08. I stayed at the Best Western, because they shuttle you to and from the clinic. I did not experience any problems. The trip over to Tijuana was fast, but getting back can take hours. Good luck on your recovery.

Be careful. Went to Mexico with a group of people a few years back... We were asking a cabbie for a ride to our hotel. One of the guys that was in my group pulled everyone aside before we got in. Then he informs us that the cabbie was (in spanish and none of the rest of us could speak it) talking about stealing one of the guys watches along with our luggage.

Don't wear jewelry, be careful, and write down the tag #'s of every cab/bus/etc you get into. Good luck!

I had written a really long post to you, but I dont want to seem like i am preaching.

All I am going to say is that it is really a dangerous time to be traveling to Mexico and that getting bargain plastic surgery can truly be the most expensive kind. I can think of 1000% reasons not to get surgery in Mexico, especially right now.

I have had quite a few procedures, and I think it is a lot wiser to finance or save a little longer for the more expensive, better doctor than to save a bit now and risk it costing a lot more later.

I am not trying to scare you and I certainly wish you the best of luck but I hope you have really thought this through and researched this dr. if you are going to go through with him doing surgery on you.

I have been to Dr. Fuentes twice and had multiple procedures both times. He is a capable reputable doctor. I went to him because he is an expert in the main procedure that I wanted.
