Duh Do women like men gazing at their breasts?

My wife and I was having this discussion about women complaining about men staring at their breasts, but yet women also seem to present their cleavage in a most eye catching manner with uplifting bras and lowcut tops. Just would like to hear you opinions on this contradiction?

For me, personally: In real life, no. At work, yes.

In real life I usually don't like gettting that kind of blatant sexual attention, especially if I'm just to talk to someone (someone I possibly don't even like) and they're staring at my body. It's one thing if I catch them glancing, because it's kind of flirtatious and it sends the signal that they're interested, but it's just annoying and gross if they're staring- like, staring.

When I don't want it though, I don't wear provocative shirts.

At work, I do. Because I want them to want my body, and pay for it.

Does anyone personally know a woman who dresses like that but still complains about it? Because if it were the same woman doing both, I can see why it would be confusing. Otherwise, it probably depends on the woman and how she's feeling that moment.

I like it when I think they look good. I do think it's problematic to say that women who dress revealing are 'asking for it', but for me, if I'm showing them, I wouldn't mind if you (guy or girl!) noticed. In a non-creepy, non-ogly kind of way. This is probably/definitely not what many other women think, though.

Another though, many women wear certain necklines/bras because of what it does for their figure overall, not just because they want to reveal cleavage. So, I know a large-breasted girl who looks a lot slimmer and taller when she wears v-necks. High collars would, in her eyes, be a disaster. The result is that a lot of guys think she wants people to notice her tits.

I don't mind men looking, but I find it incredibly rude for them to say anything.

I really only dress sexy when I'm walking about with my bf. I like that he can show me off--as stated in a couple other posts, he's a hot nerd, so I'm sure it means a lot to him to show everyone he can have a hot chick, too.

Otherwise, I wear my big black XXXL sweater everywhere--something that I stole from a bouncer at my club back home that covers EVERYTHING. I'm not out for people to notice me, I just have shit to do.

I guess I'm a really conservative dresser...plus, I'm a college student. Generally, if I wear something tighter with an actual bra (not a sports bra), then I'm at least acknowledging the possibility that people will notice them. However, I don't enjoy it when someone is being so obvious about looking that I catch them. I think it's tacky. I get enough attention for my boobs when I'm working...the last thing I want in real life is for people to be staring at me with no compensation coming my way!

Usually if I wear a nicer shirt that accentuates my figure, I'm trying to do just that: accentuate my figure in a complimentary way. The second someone zeroes in on my boobs rather than just appreciating my general appearance, I get creeped out.

Imho, a woman loses all rights to complain about guys staring at her breasts if she's wearing a push up bra and a low cut top.

That said, if I'm not at work and a guy stares at me and makes it apparent that he's staring at me, I find it completely and totally uncomfortable and annoying. Looking me over and stuff is one thing, blatantly staring is another. I don't mind being looked at all, I take it as a compliment, staring freaks me out a little.

At work though I expect, and want, to be looked at in that manner, as long as the money is there, a guy can stare at whatever part of me he wants. That's the whole point of him being at a club, and my working at one.

Outside of the club I dress rather modestly.

In the club if guys aren't staring I'd be worried!

When guys apologize for staring I tell them:

Hey I'd be insulted if you don't objectify me here. Just don't try it outside of the club on other girls.

It depends on the situation. If I have a non-stripping job, and my boss and/or co-worker keeps staring at my chest, I may have issue with that situation. I wear a 34DD, so even modest fashions tend to be revealing on my figure.

If I am purposely dressing in revealing clothing, then, no it doesn't bother me.

I don't like it, but it doesn't really phase me. I've gone up nearly 2 cup sizes since getting preggers and everyone feels the need to point it out. Even my own family members, which makes me want to puke a bit.

We're very aware of our boobs. While they're magical and mysterious to the men folk, to us it's just another body part. There is no reason to inform us that they're huge, great, fake, small, real or on fire. We know.

that's where i am. even if the neck isn't cut low, my tits are still pretty fucking obvious unless i wear a very large sweatshirt. i don't think i should have to be dowdy and uncomfortable just to prevent harassment.

i don't mean people LOOKING. i mind being harassed and propositioned. i mind strangers talking to me as if i owe them a blowjob just for existing. i mind being treated as if i just killed their mother and cut their dick off when i tell them no. if they talked to me like an actual human being, and just happened to let their eyes wander, that's fine. my eyes wander when i see cleavage too. it's hard not to notice it.

mind, that isn't everyone, but it happens way more than it really should.

*nodding* That's about where I am. At 5'1", 105 pounds or so, and 34D naturally.. it's really hard, particularly in hot summer weather, to keep my breasts from being obviously THERE and large for my frame.

I also understand that people will notice. But when I'm going about my daily business and not thinking about any particular body part of mine and suddenly it's all about my breasts.... ugh.

I had my boobs done before I got married (actually before my husband and I were even dating) and he's an ass man and couldn't care less about my boobs. I'm always so happy to remember how much I spent to have awesome boobage only to have him say, "turn around" before he tells me whether or not something looks good. Lol.

I never notice when dudes look at my chest. People will point it out to me sometimes, but I really couldn't care less. As long as they're not staring at my face, it's just too easy to ignore.

I don't think that a woman who wears a push up bra and a low cut top is "asking for it". Nobody goes through their closet thinking "Let's see, what do I have that will make people stare right at my boobs?" Staring is rude, and is only acceptable if someone is wearing, say, a chicken suit and moonwalking down the street.

For me, it depends. If I'm dressed to flaunt my breasts, that's because I want to draw attention to them, but it does bother me if I'm out in jeans and a band t-shirt and some dude is slobbering all over me. Ew. If I want attention, I dress to catch attention. If I'm just trying to be comfortable, leave me alone.

Thank you all for your honest answers. Though some may have inferred by gazing, I meant staring which I also would agree would be rude and or obnoxious. I would take it that most of you would accept a man doing a double take when you are in your non working enviroment to be a compliment and or a correct reaction for what you were hoping to achieve by whatever you are wearing or not wearing.

well, in the club of course i dont mind. the way i see it, thats what im there for! same goes for if im in a sexual situation with someone in my personal life. as for when im walking around in the real world, i hate it. in order to prevent it i wear loose-ish clothing on my upper body, and even in warm weather i usually wear a sweater to feel comfortable. i do tend to feel tha women who are showing their cleavage are attention whoring and it bothers me extremely if people stare at me even in the presence of the cleavage showing women. i guess cause the way i see it, im doing everything short of wearing a burqa to discourage it, so its kinda unfair.

As an interesting side note, I'd say that stripping has DEFINITELY made me more conservative as far as how I dress. Now that I know I can make money off of my body, I don't take any pleasure in giving away freebies! (if you can consider eye candy a freebie)

Honestly, I find it more amusing than irritating...unless someone is being really creepy about it. I don't generally wear very provacative clothing when not dancing, so it's not a big issue. If I am wearing something very low-cut and some guy is being super obnoxious (like with a line of drool hanging off his chin or something, hehehe), I'll usually snap my fingers up near my face and say "Hey, up here!." Then if they don't lay off then I may get pissy.

I don't have a problem with a man glancing (say...3-5 seconds). Staring makes you look socially inept and makes others uncomfortable. And I would certainly say that seeing cleavage doesn't give a man the right to say anything crude.
