I can dance with or without shoes. Until recently, the shoes I wore had ankle straps that were a bit of a deal to take off or put back on, so I generally left them on. Now I have a pair that only has an elastic-y strap around the back of the heel, which is much easier for off/on. Now I take them off if I expect a longer dance session. I find that most guys prefer their dancer comfortable... plus they are not usually looking at the dancer's feet during a dance. Although there are exceptions, of course.

I know quite a few dancers who do slip out of their shoes for dances. I think they're able to get more intimate without fear of stabbing the customer with a stiletto heel, and then there's the comfort factor, too.

I leave mine on. Ankle straps are too much of a pain to mess with, and I don't like being barefoot in the lap dance room.

I never take mine off. Without them, I'm too short and it screws up my whole routine. Plus I HATE it when people touch my feet, and they always do if I'm bare footed.

You're definitely not the only one though. I see other girls do it all the time.

I almost always do. I even take them off for my stage sets. Lots of guys say they like it because its more natural and girl-next-door-ish.

^^^although I don't 100% agree with the above statement unless you are performing belly dance or a hula routine, I do think that taking off your shoes for dances can be sexy. Make sure to add it to the routine in a sexual "oooh I have more to disrobe for you" kind of way. If you are just kicking your shoes off into the corner- that's ugly.

I always have them on for stage, but I never wear them for private dances.

In my club, guys pay up front for dances, so I use taking my shoes off as a selling point. If a guy tries to buy only one or two dances, I tell him I don't even take my shoes off for less than three dances.

Of course, at the end of the night, I'm tired, and just always take them off, so then I tell the guy how special he is, normally I don't take my shoes off for less than three songs!

I heard that in TX, it's considered by the law to be prositution of you take your shoes off for a dance? Anyone know about this?

I have only taken my shoes off for one custie ever, but he bought 12 dances (no vip room in said club) in a row. I would love to take my shoes off on stage but usually there is a club rule about that *sigh* and i get yelled at or fined. I need to invest in some nice jazz boots.

At my old club we had to take our shoes off otherwise we'd get chewed. I guess management didn't want their couches to get all torn up. Plus I find it easier to move around and not kick a custy in the face!

I normally take the shoes off because I can do more without them. I've tried to dance in them and get fustrated. Stilettos, stripper shoes in general, can be scary to costumers ha ha. I want to start leaving them on though - shoes would last longer, cleaner feet, and I could start wearing straps if I did.. and I need to retire the strapless shoes, I keep thinking my shoes are going to fly off when I do certain pole tricks

*edit* I wanted to add I think it's funny how certain clubs want you to keep your shoes on for various reasons, and then some make you take them off usually because they've already gotten some torn up couches from some not so graceful dancers lol

I don't take mine off cause the floor in my club....especially in the VIP...is not something I want to be walking on with bare feet.

I had a guy last night beg me to take my shoes off for our VIP...he had a calf/foot fetish....I agreed to take my knee socks off but I refused to dance without my shoes. He was happy. I've never been asked before that.

I have seen used condoms, broken little shards of glass, gum, rotten limes and lemons on the floor, so needless to say I am not gonna put my feet on that!

I actually have had a shoe fly off mid-spin, twice. LOL. The second time it came inches from taking out a customer, right in the head, hahaha... I fixed the problem by taking thigh garters and wraping them around my bare ankle first, and then crossing over around my heel, if that makes any sense.

Anywhoo...I never take my shoes off in VIP or anywhere...The heels keep it looking professional and sexy. I can't stand the sight of smelly, bare feet flopping around in the air next to me.

In my club my shoes ALWAYS come off for the dane. I am more comfortable without 7 inch heels on..
I have also worked at clubs that insist that we take them off because so many girls stand on the couches and rip them up. I have to agree with that because I HATE dancing on broken down couches.

i always keep my shoes on and think it looks unprofessionl when gils take them off to dance.dancing in the uk is very strict so there is no stepping on couches or touching anywhere, so they wouldnt get to touch my feet. the size of the platform and heel make you look tller thiner and more toned i wouldnt like to dnce flat foot x

Here, where I work is completely different, touching is allowed so we tend to do most of the dances either straddling or atleast sitting on over the custie. So, trying to give a dance in heels tends to be tedious and I feel like I am really on stilts.
I don't see how it is unprofessional to take off your shoes. I have never worked at a club where most of the girls didn't take off their shoes except when we were forced to keep them on at one point and that just felt odd. I feel a can give a better dance if I am comfortable, so bye bye shoes!

Where i work it's classed as prostitution if we take our shoes off. It's fucked.

I keep my shoes on. I avoid even having my foot touch the ground in the dressing room. I'm pretty paranoid about catching something... and I don't need to be thinking about whether someone has athlete's foot or something else along those lines.

Do you work in Texas? I had a manager in Dallas tell me that once, and have been trying to figure out for nearly two years now if it was bullshit or not.

Hah! I leave one shoe on and one shoe off!

Left shoe stays on for leverage, because if I'm straddling a guy my little midget legs are too short to reach the ground without shoes.

Right shoe comes off so I can get nice and low without hunching over uncomfortably.

Of course if I'm in VIP both shoes come off fast as a jiffy. It's tight in there and I'm afraid of stabbing myself with a shoe, much less the customer.

Just about every dancer I know takes her shoes off, and if were all in the ld room at the same time it can get really confusing, I've put on someone elses shoes by accident at least once (yuck!)

Of course I almost always wear knee socks, thigh his, etc, so there's minimal foot to floor contact.

No Brisbane Australia. i personally have read the rules and guide lines so i know it isn't bullshit. but prostitution is legal here but where strip clubs serve alcohol. anyone that has had a liquor licence or a family member that has had a liquor licence cannot obtain a brothel licence. we get warned when licencing is about.

I always take mine off. Once, when working a club in NC the manager walked by and told me I had to keep my shoes on while giving a dance. That was the one and only time I've ever been told to keep them on.
