Default to work or not to work?

I just started work last night at a new club - it's great, everyone is so sweet, fun, I love it.
BUT I didn't get any sleep last night, napped for like 5 hours today, and I am quite effing ill. I know if I go in today (the manager asked me to come in, so they are expecting me) I'll be tired and off my game and won't make any money. But I don't want to call in sick on only my second day and seem like a slacker or make them regret hiring me. What should I do?

Why don't you take whatever medicine you need to manage your symptoms and go in for a short shift, like 4 hours, and don't worry about hustling? Just go in today to show the manager that you're reliable, and anything that you earn is just incidental. Think of today as more of a demonstration of discipline than a money-making day.
