    Default crunches w/ "stripper bump"?

Hey girls. I had one of those "stripper bumps" and i still have one (even three months after I quit dancing) It is getting smaller, but everytime I try to do crunches, it gets bigger. I have tried using the ab longe so there isnt as much pressure on it but its not helping. Any ideas what i could do since I do not want to stop working out. I wouldnt really care if the bump was there, except for it gets sore after I work out so its starting to bother me. How long does it take to go away... or does it go away?? thanks

I think the term came from Jenna Jameson's book (at least that is where I first heard it) and refers to a bumb at the base of the spine, above the butt that a LOT of dancers get from some combo of doing floor work/wearing heels/straining the back. I don't think they are incredibly noticable (didn't know I had one until I knew what to look for) but now that I know I realized the majority of girls I work with have em!

As for doing crunches with it- I have had no problem. Mine isn't very noticable and doesn't cause any pain tho. I'm sure it will go away with time!

Does the "stipper bump" feel fatty and does it feel like it can be easily moved around? If so, it could be Lipoma.

I don't know about the OP but mine is just an area of inflammation. But it sounds like hers might be bigger if its getting in the way of crunches?

Well since lipomas are basically fatty deposits they can vary in size and number. They lie under the skin, so they may appear only to be an irritation on the surface.

They usually are not paindful in and of themselves, but depending it's location and proximity it could irritate and cause pain to surrounding nerve tissue.

Hopefully the OP's doctor will be able to diagnose it for sure.

i have noticed that too. it looks like an enlarged taillbone. suprisingly, i have never seen it on guys and i've seen it on non-stripper girls. am i the only one that's noticed this?

I got mine years before I ever started stripping. I remember I first noticed it shortly after I had my 2nd daughter and I asked my doc what it was- she just said not to be concerned and maybe it will go away after I lose the baby weight. Well years later, after more kids, and always losing the baby weight- its still there... but I kinda like it. I think its hot lol, but thats just me I guess.
