Boy thank goodness the stimulus plan didn't include any pork or pet projects just like he promised over and over again for the last 8 months!

Who cares at this point? People will either bitch about taxes, deficits, spending, whatever.

^^Maybe they'll like it. Maybe they'll enjoy living in the richest most powerful nation on earth, in freedom, and they won't be so concerned about pitching in for the privelege.

With "entitlement" attitudes here only increasing I find it difficult to believe anyone will want to pitch in for anything.

Are our tax rates lower than everywhere around the globe?

They'll be paying for Reagan and Bush's tax cuts. What do we have to show for the $11 trillion of debt that we ran up as a result of their policies? An economy on the verge of collapse. Conservatism is the problem, not the solution.

A good point. I do care about others' children (don't want any of my own).

lololol Our problem is spending, not tax revenues. Continued liberal spending programs are the problem.

Oh Puleeeeze ! More doctrinaire nonsense without a shred of fact to back it up.

How did the tax cuts get us into this mess ? Revenues went way UP thanks to Regan's tax cuts; and Clinton's and Bush II's. Reagan controlled the growth of gov't as a % of GDP. Clinton let it grow a little bit but Bush and the Congressional Republicans were recklessly irresponsible with the budget and SPENT too much.
Two wars, NCLB ; a Medicare Drug Benefit and tons of pork. What have we gotten from Barack & The Obamanations ? Even MORE wasteful spending we cannot afford.

I wish that Bush was a REAL conservative. He would have stayed out of Iraq and controlled spending.
