    Default Job

Sorry if this is in the wrong area, I am not ready to be a dancer yet but a club near me is advertising waitressing and bar jobs. I have not had a job yet. I have just turned 18 and have been living off my parents until now so I really need to get a job. There was a 'recruitment number' to call, which I did and the manager sounded okay until I said I was not looking to be a dancer, he said I would just have to come into the club. Does this mean he wants to see what I look like? Do I make a CV, I have an education but no previous jobs to put down so I dont know if there is point. Should I ask to work at the bar or as a waitress. What would I wear? Any tips?

Rarely will you ever need a resume or CV to work in a club, unless you are teaching other dancers or working for an agency.

Yes, the manager wants to see what you look like. You might start out as a waitress, but chances are that if he thinks you are good looking he'll try to convince you to dance first.

Don't let them try to bully you...stick to your guns! If you aren't ready to dance, just say so. If he persists, just say that you have a ton of friends in the area that might see you and if your parents found out, they wouldn't handle it well. Or, you could say that you are new to the industry and just want to check it out first by waitressing or something. If he persists after that, go elsewhere. lol.

Q: What's the difference between a waitress at a strip club and a dancer?

    A: About two weeks.
