    Default What to wear?

I'm a newbie and completely excited about dressing up! But I have questions!

What are the best shoes to wear? What shoes to customers tend to find the sexiest? What's the best inch of heel to get? I'm currently interested in getting these.

And what sort of underwear do you prefer to wear? Do you always buy them specifically from stripper stores and websites? I'm going to get these, but I own a lot of sexy underwear from Victoria's Secret like these. Will those work?

And do you immediately walk out in just heels and underwear? Do you always wear a babydoll tank or something to strip off? Do you only do that once a night?

I recommend getting a shoe with a platform. They are actually more comfortable than flat shoes, as the platform absorbs some shock and are more comfortable for the arch. Also, platforms elongate the legs and give you the classic stripper look. I wear a 7" platform and find this to be the most comfortable for me, but you may want to start lower, at 5 or 6 inches with a cone heel, until you get used to them.

    These are what I wear:

Yes, I always buy stripper thongs for work. Regular thongs from victoria's secret are too small or too uncomfortable or they wear out too fast. Stripper thongs are designed to be sturdy and stand up to the demands of our job. And in some places, it's illegal to wear anything else.

I walk out in my outfit--whatever that happens to be--and I gradually strip down to just my thong. I strip once for each set, and depending on how many girls are there and how long my shift is, I do 4-5 sets per night.

It sounds like you have a lot of questions about procedures that could be resolved by spending time in a club and observing what the girls do.

    Hope this helps!

For shoes, get something you are comfortable with. I'd suggest going to a store and actually buying your first pair of shoes. Some shoes are a lot wider than others and you need to find out with brands are good with your size and width. Once you know you'll be able to order online.

I am the exact opposite of Winged in terms of platforms. I think starting in regular heels is much easier. You've got enough to worry about as a new dancer without having to worry about platforms. Sometimes super upscale clubs don't allow platforms either. My suggestion would be to go check out the club and see what the other dancers are wearing. 4" heels are typically the minimum height. If you are shopping and can't tell if the shoe is tall enough, take out your drivers license or another card length wise and place it against the heel. If the heel looks like it's a 1/2 inch taller then the card you are good to go.

As for underwear, you'll need to look at what the girls at the club have on. Most clubs will expect you to go down to a g-string or thong. Find out what is allowed at the club first though. What you posted could be worn on top of the g-string though as an extra layer to strip off.

When you leave the dressing room you normally have on your heels, g-string/thong, and some sort of outfit like a top/skirt combo or a dress. Some dancers even wear pants but that isn't as common.

How many times you go on stage per night will depend on the number of girls working. I've worked clubs where I probably went on twice an hour... so about 16 times a night, and I've worked clubs where I only went on 2 or 3 times per night.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I have to agree with Winged Dingy about the shoes - platformed heels look the most strippery, so you really embody the fantasy with the giant stripper shoes. Since you are new to the stripper heels, definitely go to the store that caters to dancers - not just a lingerie store. More often than not, the store clerks at those places will also be more than happy to give you outfit advice. If you want to be really frugal, write down the product names and ISBN's of everything you like at the store, and then go shopping online later.

I wouldn't recommend wearing anything from Victoria's Secret or anything that you would classify as normal underwear. In the club, the fabric of regular underwear, no matter how lacey and pretty it is, just doesn't look right. Plus you need something made out of thick fabric to keep you covered at all times (plus if you usually get a little sweaty, dance wear materials usually don't bleed through like normal underwear)...
You also have to remember that your outfits can take a beating from dancing - especially if you do floor work and lap dances. Dance wear is much more durable, and you probably wouldn't want to ruin your super cute VS panties either.

i started out in 7.5" heels, and havent come close to falling off the stage once yet! as long as you try them on in the store and then practice in them at home for a while, you'll feel comfy in them in no time.

as for clothes, i would like to suggest grabbing a couple completely different outfits. i have all the usual bikini style stripper outfits, but i also have a 50s-style pinup outfit, a school girl outfit, and a punk rocker outfit. its great to be able to change your outfit based on the crowd. just 2 days ago this guy i was sitting with said how much he loved oldies music and pin up girls, so i changed into that and put on bright red lip stick for my next stage set and danced to frank sinatra of all things. when i got done HE practically dragged ME to the champagne room all by himself!!!!

For underwear I suggest getting tie/snap sides. specially if its a nude club. easier to take off you don't have to get them over your shoes! and alot easier/faster to get on too.

Also personally I wear only skirts over my thongs, some girls wear cute boy shorts but I find those hard to take off and back on. With a skirt you can just slip it off, and to put it back on, over your head like a t-shirt. no need to lift those bulky heels off the ground.
