Default Fake marriage license (or other alternative) for cruise trip???

I've decided that if i meet all my goals for the next year and a half and succeed in raising enough money... i would like to go on a cruise.

But i have discovered that i'm so young, i can't go on the cruise without a guardian, age 25 or older (my boyfriend is only 22)..... UNLESS....

I have a valid marriage license, and i'm attending with my husband. lmao.

so, what are the possibilities of getting a fake marriage license? What are the consequences, should i be caught? Am i likely to be caught?

what about having a marriage that is not technically legal or a marraige that can be easily annulled? Any1 have the 411 or advice?

What cruise line? I did the normal cruises from 18 to early 20's and never needed a guardian.

This doesn't sound right to me. Is it a European or Asian cruise? Usually the Caribbean/ Mexican/ Alaskan cruises are fine with 18-24 year old cruisers. Try Disney or Carnival cruises. Both cater to younger crowds. Avoid Holland America and Celebrity as they are looking for the retired demographic.

P.S. I love cruising! I'm planning on spending my 40th b-day drunk as a skunk on a cruise ship this November!

Yeah, this sounds weird. Although I suppose they have that rule about beer commercials (I don't know if it's the same in the US? i expect it is) that you have to be 25 or older to be in one.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but a marriage license doesn't mean marriage, just that you CAN get married. Again this might be different depending on where you live, but when I got married we had to apply for the license first, which allows you to legally marry within the three months after the license is obtained. Otherwise it just lapses and you have to re-apply. So maybe check that out.

Edit- I just checked Carnival's site (I'm thinking of a wee cruise myself ) and it says that the minimum age is indeed 21; younger must be accompanied with a guardian 25 or older and that the exception is married or domestic partners. Um, wow. Are you and your boyfriend common-law partners?

I know a lot of young couples who go on cruises and I've never heard that! Which cruise line did you check? Maybe you should check the cruise lines based out of Europe instead of the U.S.

I hate to say it, but the U.S. has some really ridiculous laws and rules. This cruise line may have that rule to help eliminate things like on board prostitution and underage drinking.

Try www.cruisecritic.com and see if the people in the forums there have suggestions for you.

I've been on Carnival and Royal Caribbean a total of four times before I was 20 (At ages 17, 18 and 20) every time with my bf that was under 25 (he's only four years my senior). The rule was that whoever you are with has to be over 21.

but i'm not sure if the rules have changed or they just overlooked it...

but i'm just going off what i read on the websites before booking. It said in order for the age restriction to be waived, i had to have proof of underage marriage

Don't let it get you down. I can tell you right off the bat that the European cruise lines have cruises to places that are way better than what the US cruise lines offer.
