Question how did you get so good at the pole?

okay, so there are some people out there that are like AMAZING at pole dancing. they're like acrobats. if you're reading this and you're amazing at pole dancing, how did you learn it? i mean, it's not like every dancer takes classes or everyone is taught as soon as they're hired. so, how did you learn all those intricate and really difficult pole tricks?

Time and a lot of bruising

seriously...its a lot of trial and error and watching the girls at your club, and slowly learning their tricks and then slowly developing your own moves

and not to be a jerk, but quite a few similar threads have already been started on this topic... you should check them out for some more helpful tips

Time is definitely a factor. Time and boredom. I learned most of my tricks just because I wanted something to do on stage when the club gets slow.

Try to find a nice dancer who will show you (or just explain to you) how to do certain tricks. Or you can even buy your own pole and work on tricks at home (using youtube videos or trial-and-error).

Some women seem to be just naturally amazing on the pole. And some women learn how to do stuff that looks cool just to laypersons. I wouldn't worry about it. Have fun with it! Pole work (IME) isn't necessary to make money, so just use tricks you learn as supplementary to your stage show (and not central).

i used to just practice when no one was in and most the girls dont really use the pole much unless they have to so its free virtually all the time when its dead, i just watched youtube and then when i was at work tried out a few difff things till i was satisfied i could perform while guys were in.

got a hell of alot of bruises when i first started but now i get hardly any and it dont hurt anymore, i love the pole .

I will be starting in a few days. I have a ferocious problem with nerves but the pole has always intrigued me - it just looks like so much fun! I have a martial arts background & would love to get up & try a few things but the thought of doing it for the first time ... in 6" heels ... *shudders*

This is exactly why I started doing pole tricks and it was all trial and error, and by error I mean falling and bruising about every single part of my body at one point or another. I used to mess around mostly when no one was in the club, and then my friend got a pole in her basement and I spend lots of time there now as well.
Sorry I missed church. I was too busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian.

i had learned from a girl at the club i had first started at...its not easy especially if you are just starting...but gradually as time goes on you'll get used to the pole and learn what works for your body and work with it...and practice really does make perfect

Practice, practice practice. On slow days when everyone else was stuffing their face with take out, I was up on stage. Practice same motion over and over till its set in you, then move to next. Eventually you glide like a stream. work your way from the bottom to the top. Every one wants to learn to climb it first. Thats their bad. Learn spins, then balance, then climb, then inverts, eventually you learn to climb up,balance, invert, and spin your way down.
    It is fun

A lot of girls have a background in gymnastics and it's really easy to pick up pole tricks if you do (I did it for nine years). Dance also helps.

Other than that just practice when its slow or no ones there. Pole tricks aren't hard you just have to do the same over 193904320 times so you do it without even thinking about what youre doing. And when people explain them to you have them go through it slowly and then watch you go through the actions. When girls get really comfortable it looks like theyre just flying around on the pole, but theres usually a small trick-- where you put your hands on the pole, rotating a leg-- that makes the trick work.

Not that great pole work isn't, well, great but just remember it isn't everything. Some of the top earners I've known barely touched it. Your sales approach/hustle is faaaaaaarrrrrrr more important.
