    Default i HATE doing rooms!!!!!!

So today, my club had $100 room day, during which the customers get their pick of any room for only $100/half hr not including drinks. Well, I didn't end up doing too badly considering, but the amount of work for the little amount of money really got to me. I'm usually not a "room girl" w/tons of regulars. I usually pick up the stragglers who don't know me and do $30 lapdances, which I get to keep all to myself and don't pay to the club. So today wasn't only $100 rm day, but also $20 lapdance day...lovely. So all in all, I got about 4 rooms (which is ALOT for me) plus a good deal of lapdances. But here's what annoyed me...the first room i got tipped $2 (and that was after suggesting that he tip me when it was obvious he wasn't going to), the 2nd room I got $8, and the 3rd I got $25...buttt...the person who got the 3rd room also got a regular priced one after that and didn't tip me anything on that one! wtf?!?! i'm not a bad room person i don't think. usually club regulars tip me $50 - $100. i've even somehow gotten tipped $150 for half an hour before...which is alot to me. i think that the problem with people who aren't used to getting rooms don't know the "tipping policy," and i'm sorry, but $102 for half an hour of my time really doesn't seem worth it, considering i'm usually okay at getting lapdances. ugh. perhaps i'm just too greedy? maybe i'm spoiled from lapdances? that was another thing...barely any tips on lapdances either. i'm used to getting $35-$45 per dance. i think one person tipped $3 and another, thank goodness, tipped $20...which was awesome!

my question is...and yes i've done a search and am not sure why i can't find anything since i'm pretty sure this topic's been covered...how do you ask for a big tip???? should i even do that? i'm so worried about turning the customer off by doing this.

Customers that come in on the this-much-off day are usually pretty cheap. They've budgeted themselves fro the special and don't want to pay anything above that. It's not that you didn't earn a tip (I'm assuming, of course), it's that they just didn't want to pay it or was beyond their budget. Maybe they weren't even too keen on paying out $100--even if it's for a half hour, that's a lot of money for some people--but got talked into it because they saw the "sale price" and thought that it was the best deal they were going to get for their only time ever getting a VIP/room so what the hell.

If you want a better tip, I'd say ask for it beforehand. My regulars tip me very well after a VIP but newer guys can tip between $0 and $100 if I tell them that it gets better the more they give me before we start.

That, make them feel like it was worth it to have gotten the room instead of lapdances. My reg dances are usually pretty basic: poses, little grinding, breathe in the ear, ect. My VIPs are all that and light neck messages here and there, fuck-me eyes, stranger positions, nails on the back, maybe even a show on the room's stage. Something to make the experience more intimate and memorable than a regular dance.

BTW, $100 for a half hour blows. We bitch about our $75 VIP day. And I don't even come in on $10 dance day.

^^I don't know about your club, but $10 dance days are usually pretty decent at mine. Sure, your earning POTENTIAL is a lot lower, but more people say yes (which puts me in a great mood, which gives me more sales) so my average on those nights are usually closer to my weekend averages rather than my weeknight averages.

I use lines like "MOST gentlemen tip xx amount" or "If you want me to get naughtier, feel free to tip"
Theres no sense crying over every mistake,
you just keep on trying till you run out of cake

^Is this before or after you start the dance.

For a room that cheap, I'll be honest I'd be doing alot more sitting and talking vs. dancing. $100 for 30min of straight dancing is just to damn much bs to possibly put up with.

You probably have a higher customer turnout that I do. I work dayshifts at a club that usually has more quality vs quantity for our customers. We have maybe 10 guys on average walk through the door on any dayshift, less on the weekends. So even if the guys are getting 3 $10 dances vs 2 $20 dances, my earnings still plummet. I've resorted to telling them there is a $20 minimum for going into the back.

Second. I wouldn't care if they felt jipped after they didn't tip me anything on top of the $100 for half hour. "You might be wasting my time, buddy, but I'm sure as hell not letting you waste my energy."

i say its $100 for the club and $100 for me. or whatever #. i think of it as supply and demand- if the club is busy - i ask for bigger tip, if its crickets and he's the only game in town- i might just take the $100
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

I am never at the Deja Vu club I work at on Thursday nights because of this. $100 for a half hour, but the dancer only gets to keep $60!! That's only 3 songs at my other club if I'm not overcharging.

$60 for a half hour is pretty ridiculous. I would rather hustle the 3 for $60 booth all night ($36 to dancer), it's easier money. I don't even mention the half hour VIP if I'm working on Thursday.

^ Although Sapphire had a good idea, $100 in the machine and $100 to the dancer.

I know there have been posts on this before that have been helpful for me that have suggested saying "the room/dance is xx plus tip". It's probably not good to push for a tip but you could also suggest the guy tip you - "don't forget to tip me!" and then say something cute. This I guess depends on the feel of the guy. I would use caution in pressuring or making someone feel uncomfortable. If you are good at selling dances though and feel it worth your time more so than a room than put those customers first. If you can keep lapdances stacked than it probably is going to end up being more money - plus in a sense it's less intimate and less pressue for the dancer, which I know some girls prefer.

I'm still learning this myself and it's been 7 years! I was taught in the other places I worked extensive amounts of time, it was rude to ask for a tip and we would be fired for that.

However, here in Vegas dancers do ask, but I honestly don't understand it. At my club, if I do a $400/hr room, I keep the entire $400, unless it's credit card, and they only take 10%. I could understand asking for a tip if I only got $200 of it, or something but the dude just gave me $400 of which I keep 100%. What is he tipping me for?

I don't know. I did briefly work in a nude club here where they took a good percentage, but I really, really hate hustling for tips.

^ I hear that. Like I said, perhaps I'm just spoiled from the guys who do tip well, as well as from the amount of money that I get to keep during lapdances. You're lucky that at the one club you got to keep everything! On $100 room day, we did get to keep all $100. On a normal rm day, it's split so we keep 60% and the club gets 40%, I believe. Up until recently, I never even asked for tips after LDs, but now it's become easier (and it works).

Thanks for all of the suggestions, girls. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to feel the guy out before telling him "my price." If he's a club regular who tells me he's gotten rooms before, or who I've seen getting rooms, I definitely WILL NOT tell him a price that includes the tip. I'll also try to find out if he's gotten rooms in other clubs, and then find out what types of clubs those are and, depending on that, give him a price. If he's a total newbie to rooms and the club, I will, for sure, give him "my price," and if he has a problem with it, he can get LDs or just not get anything. Don't get me wrong, though. I will not sound like I'm interrogating him about previous club experiences! I usually talk to customers about what types of clubs they've been to and good experiences they've had in clubs, so the convo will flow smoothly and I'll extract the info that I need!

i don't call it a tip- i find it better to not elabarate what the money is for. and i agree about not getting it out of club regulars.

by not asking for tips you're selling yourself short and missing out on money. you gotta go in with the attitude that you are worth it and deserve it. so what if he just paid $400- your time is worth that and more. there are lots of non obnoxious ways to ask for tips, especially after the dance/cr. that way you don't care about offending anymnore. i say -"its $100 and a big juicy tip"

oh man i WISH i working in these clubs where you girls are!!! My club is very small, in some pretty po-dunk south carolina town. we have max 12 dancers working at one point. The VIP room is just a back room with lots of couches, (semi-private) and its right by the DJ booth so the DJ can keep an eye on grabby custies. We're a topless only clup. VIPs are $25 and last for one song, those get kind physical and we give 5 back to the club. Lap/table dances are light/medium contact and are 10. The only place we get tipped is on stage. I feel good to pull $200 a night.

You just described my club. The only couple of differences is that we have to give the club $6 out of every $25 dance (half the time the $25 dances are 2-for-1s). The stage fee is anywhere from $35 to $50 and it's always slow but yet a lot of girls still manage to pull in $300 - $400 a night on average. It CAN be done!

I just wanted to encourage you a little bit When I first started working at my club I had many people tell me that most girls made $100 a night (and this was when the economy was still good). Now the economy's in the shitter and I am easily making 3 to 4 times as much. It CAN be done!

well my favorite one is "its a hundred and a big juicy tip" while i giggle and squeeze my boobs for the tip. then if they paid up front i say "did you have a good time?" "great, would you like to tip me?" i will leave no stone unturned for a tip cause thats extra money in my pocket.

I personally rarely ask a big spender for a tip because I don't want to insult him and ruin the chance of him coming back to see me again. I will personally forgo the extra 20-100 bucks in order to get him back in the door to see me again for $400-500/hour.

ALL of my established regulars have said that if a girl asks them for a tip after they just make her night....then they will NEVER make her night again.

it really depends how much they spend, for me i ask for a tip when they pay for a lap dance by telling them "its a $25 MINIMUM" emphasis on the minimum, cute smile, sexy wink. 9 out of 10 times i get at least a $5-10 tip sometimes more. if i do a room for $300 (club gets 100 for a half hour) ill tell them "the room is $300 minimum, any tips are appreciated" sometimes you only get $20 last night i got $200!
