There is a lot of new music out there. Always interested in what other dancers like to listen to and dance to. After awhile some songs get old.
Just thought it would be interesting to here what everyone is into.

What gets you going? What are some of your favorite songs?

It takes me awhile before I will add in new songs to what I prefer to dance to. I love dancing to most songs by Prince. If I want something old school I'll go for Jodeci... which is really funny because then the older girls who remember them will suddenly start requesting their songs. There's a ton of great music out that I think people forget about.

Anything by Nine Inch Nails, Tool (and other Maynard), Rage Against the Machine...some Marilyn Manson...and occasionally I'll dance to Plowed by Sponge and Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand.

my interests vary so widely...it all depends on what i feel like that night.

i love she wants revenge, and muse. but a few nights ago i remembered how much i love rob zombie, linkin park...etc.

i dance to alot of electronica too, lately it's been nonstop trance, but the other night our dj introduced me to this BADASS jungle remix of no diggity, so i've been backin it up to that on stage.

i love pop music (cascada, anyone?) and more recently hip hop. i LOVE kid sister...

for sure. it depends on the club and shift too, day shifts I stay away from playing those songs b/c its older white guys for the most part and they bitch when girls play rap/top 40. Fri/Sat night with a younger, more stage oriented crowd, popular new songs are good and people get into it, tip more for a new single they like

I know it sounds corny, but if I have a regular in or there's just one lonely guy at the tip rail.. Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye works like a charm. It's super sexy if you know how to work it!

I go through phases and dance to the same thing pretty often, but the song I alwayse use it Closer- Kings Of Leon. I have SO many guys tell me they love that song while I'm on stage and that always equates to more tips... plus I love dancing to it.

Aaaaah yeah I love that song but I'm absolutely not allowed to play it at work, we have a no rap rule. I play it in my car on the drive there instead.
