Default Guys reactions on amateur night??

So i had worked at my last club for four months but it was more than a trashy and unprofessional club. I am moving on to a better one (if i win amateur night). but i haven't danced in a while and haven't been in front of as many people that will be in there...let a lone compete for the job! at my trashy club and big als i got hired on thespot! but anywyas i wanted to know...
    1) what the boys are thinking when they see a girl on amateur night on stage?
    2) What if she looks really nervous, will you not cheer for her?
    3) Are the only guys that cheer the loudest actually know the girl?
4)The manager said i was fucking hot 3 times and gave me a look liek i had it in the bag....but thats jsut my looks. i can dance. belive me. i just havent been on stage in a while and i get butterflies my first time in a new place, do i have a smaller chance of winning?

It's not about being nervous, it's how you allow it to influence you that matters. Even if you're nervous, can you do the 'job'? Sometimes the nervousness is kinda hawt.

I remember seeing the Brady Bunch where IIRC Marsha had to speak in front of a large crowd and she was nervous. The advice to overcome it was "Just imagine they are in their underwear".

    Good luck.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness
The note that began all can also destroy

Fresh faces. I always assume a third of the dancers are competing because they're short on cash, another third because of a dare (either given by someone else or an internal one), and the last third are women that are testing the waters on being a stripper. There are naturally women who are a combination of the three or all three.

But I'm not a big fan of amateur nights. The amateurs only do stage performances and that's it. I view the stage as a way for a dancer to announce herself to the room. If she's someone I'd like a lapdance from, I'd signal my waitress over and have her fetch the dancer for me. If the lapdance is good, we head off to the VIP room.

    2) What if she looks really nervous, will you not cheer for her?
Cheer? Yell? No, I don't do that for any contestant. Applaud, yes. But I applaud for every dancer. Maybe a little harder for my pick but that's it.

    3) Are the only guys that cheer the loudest actually know the girl?
From everything I've seen, yes. And it isn't hard to figure out who is who's cheering section. If you want to win, I'd suggest you get all your friends to come out to show support.

Are you saying that the only way to dance at this club is to first do amateur night? If so, that's odd. Never heard of a club that had that requirement. All the ones I know just have you come in and audition with the manager. The most restrictive I've heard is limiting these auditions-to-the-manager between certain hours and/or on certain days of the week.

In New Jersey clubs being able to dance is not a requirement and I haven't heard applause in 30 years. It used to be a stage show but now it is just women hustling money. Not that there is any thing wrong with that.

It sounds fishy. I'd suggest auditioning at another club if you can.

All is fair in love, war and stripping. With three people, you could probably still win against another contestant's army of twelve. The trick is telling your people to come in at different times then get up next to where the amateur night's judge is located without sitting right next to each other so they don't look like they know each other. Then what you do is have them be nice to all the other contestants and applaud for them. Then when you perform, have them go wild. If they don't applaud at all for the other contestants, all the judges I've known over the years look poorly on that and you might as well then have your people wear your stage name on a t-shirt.

My reaction, especially if I wasn't aware of it in advance: "oh, s#^t, not another amateur contest". The few that I have been to have involved prize money, so they'll be a bunch of bozos in club that are good for making noise. Out of 8-10 contestants, there will be 1 or 2 that look like they don't belong there, maybe 1 that looks OK, but whose routine isn't "on same wavelength" with other dancers. There will be a couple of obvious frontrunners, any number of the rest could snag the #3 spot.
Things aren't all that bad: at 1 contest, the eventual 2nd place finalist wrapped her panties around my neck, and afterwards, handed me a card with her dance schedule at another club
