I like the look of a bump in my hair, but don't like all of the teasing that's involved. Has anyone bought Bumpits or Vidal Sassoon Hair Poufs to achieve the bump look? If so, what did or didn't you like about the products?

I am scared to buy things off infomercials, such as the aqua globes, point and paint, and the perfect straps. Obviously, I did not have good experiences with any of those items.
Aqua globes- pretty and decorative, didn't do what they were supposed to do, because they just watered one side of the plant, and that side over flowed onto the floor.
Point & Paint, worked good until I got to the top of the ceiling, not good for textured ceilings, but maybe okay for a flat ceiling.
Perfect strap- I loosened my bra straps all the way, put the perfect strap on and my shoulders were killing me! I mean it was so uncomfortable, I had to take it off. But... it made the twins look so good in my bra, better than they have ever looked in any bra !
Sorry, I am kind of OT, but I just would like someone to review bumps or vidall sasson hair poufs like I did. Thanks!![]()

i read somewhere how to make your own hair poof so i just did that. i have a couple different sizes now. the first way is gathering the hair from your hairbrushes and kida rolling it into a ball. (kinda gross, but it works) the other one i use is one of those old hair scrunchie things.
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

I've gotten screwed from ordering things off TV.
I made the mistake of ordering one of those "Shoes Under" things. They sent me FOUR!!! And then refused to issue a refund.
Ever since then, I really don't trust infomercials.
I bought Bumpits last month, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them.
I bought a set off of Ebay that included 2 mini-bumpits, 2 regular bumpits, and 1 Hollywood, for $25. Best purchase I've ever made.
They're extremely easy to put in, and it creates these awesome looks. I get so many compliments on my hair now.

Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

never heard of them, but the name bumpits made me laugh. hahahaha!!!! sometimes i can be really easy to amuse.

i bought bump its when i was last in the states.
they are amazing! and it saves having to back comb ur hair and damaging it!
I wear my hair poker straight. I straighten the hell out of my hair haha.
When I first got them, I made th emistake of using only the very front section over the bumpit, and the combs did stick through a little. When I used a thicker section, the style looked much better, and it covered the combs beautifully.
My hair is very thin and fine as well.

yeah, i was also wondering if you could use them in curly hair. Do you guys think it looks bad if someone with curly hair doesn't brush their hair when it's put up in a half pony? as in the top part mines always bumpy does that look bad?
from what i've seen, they usually go better in curly hair bc the texture of the hair hides the combs better. i think less brushed hair can be sexy as long as it's tamed to soome degree.

I sooooooooo wanna buy me a bump it, those things look super awesome, and I have been forever trying to figure out a way to do that to my hair. And apparently if you do it right, it looks goodBut i havent been able to find any on ebay, maybe kandie_kitten got to it before I could
but yeah, i am so wanting to buy me some.
i create a bump in my hair just by separating a section and then pushing it forward to create the bump... and then put two clips to hold it in place.
I've heard that those bump-it things are hard to hide in your hair... and I like to wear my hair suuupppeerrrr str8 so its not for me.

I have super thin hair and I can never get the bumpits to look rightThey show through...so I'll try to use more hair but then the bump is in a weird spot...I just can't win. -sigh-

The bumpits are on www.hsn.com and you can read customer reviews and watch a howto video.
If anyone wants to try them and not order tham online....sally beauty supply carries them now
"LIVE FAST DIE PRETTY!!!"
For some reason I thought this thread was about butt hair.
I can't see how straight or evenly slightly thinnish hair would not totally reveal the spikes/hard edges of these plastic things. You'd have to carefully cover all the bits with hair and perfectly hair-spray it into a helmet.
one hangs a hat upon her tit/one carves a cross on her behind/they do not give a shit for wit/the boys i mean are not refined//they come with girls who bite and buck/who cannot read and cannot write/who laugh like they would fall apart/and masturbate with dynamite
I just bought a set of three different sizes for 9.99 at walmart. I am playing around with them right now and they look pretty damn cute! My hair is thick and curly so they are staying hidden pretty well. I haven't worn them at work yet so we'll see how they hold up on stage with all the hair flipping and upside down pole tricks. Yay volume!
I Am Conserving Grace For A Later Time.

They are also at Wal-Mart![]()
I hate bumpits. I have pretty thin hair, so I have to tease it a lot to get it to stay in, and then on top to cover it... it's easier for me to just tease my hair and not use the bumpit at all.

Claire's in the mall has them for sale, and for like $10 i think. i personally just use a bitchin ratting comb, and some hairspray, but the whole concept does intrigue me.

they are a pain for me, they get stuck in my hair
