    Default I'm a lazy stripper

I've been really lazy about working lately. I go into the club when I feel like it, I take a week or two off here and there, I don't show up if I don't feel like getting out of bed, etc.
My question is what do you ladies do to motivate you to go into work? I know the money is a main motivator for a lot of people, but other than that is there something that makes you go into work and actually keep going in on a regular basis?

On top of my club making me follow a schedule, I work days on top of that to meet a goal I set for myself every week. Say I'm working M,W, F, if I'm not a certain amount closer to the goal by Wed, I go in Thurs.

That, and I see stripping as a job. To me, not showing up to work your job is not an option.

Think about your shelf life. Remembering you won't be able to do this job forever should motivate you to make the money now while you can, before your body goes out on you.. Or before you get so sick of the job you don't WANT to do it anymore. I think about that a lot. I want to save as much as I can b/c it won't last forever.
And you never know what tomorrow brings. You could get into a car accident and be paralyzed, you want to be prepared for anything. That's the beauty of our job--the opportunity to be financially secure.
Being lazy is not an option!

It does come and go though. We all go though lazy spurts, but you can't feed into that too much. The more you take off the harder it is to get back into it!

    Good luck!

Really.... you need to just figure out how much money a week you want and figure out the best free time / money balance for you. If you definitely want xxx per week .... figure out what you average a night and then work that many nights. Work an extra night if you need to to hit the marks you want. I don't dance full time, but I have another sales job too. Sometimes I make the money I want easily ( 35-40 hours a week ) and sometimes I work extra hours ( either dancing or my day job ) to hit my marks. You can't let yourself get too far behind. A good annual income is made up of consistency each week / month. If you base your annual income on 2 weeks off per year ( or more if you want .... I base it on 4-5 weeks off to do travels! ) and a week or two that you might be sick during the year, your numbers will be pretty much dead on unless you have something awful to deal with.
I guess my point of that long note is to look at things yearly and then break it down........

For me, it's just about being a grown up and knowing I need to work. Being a dancer makes my life easier, ie.. if I get stuck in class and cant make it it's no biggie, if I get sick and can't make it no one really bugs me, but I try to treat it like a real job most of the time. There are groceries, utilities, rent, books, tutition that all needs to be paid regardless of whether or not I "feel" like it... so I take a deep breath and get in my car....

I appreciate that advice too ladies, I am having so much trouble motivating myself to get up and go. And then of course later I'm pissed at myself for not going. My club doesn't do schedules so I'm going to make my own for the next few weeks and then try to stick to it.

My main issue was that the environment wasn't conducive to productivity. I am super-motivated (I've been a CNA and now am a pharmacy tech and full-time student), but I was friends with so many people it was a like a party at work, with each other, and eventually we just didn't go and had our social time elsewhere, where it didn't smell like smoke and sweat LOL. Seriously though, you may want to try switching clubs or getting a day job, doing something that forces you to have a regular schedule.

I set a goal for myself every month. Pay off xx amount in xxx, while paying for xxx and if I'm far from that goal I work my ass off until I meet it. I do this every month and it's pretty much been a routine for me. In all honesty, once you start getting lazy it's hard to get back in the hustle.

    Join the club.

When I'm not making money (slow season) I'm not motivated.
When I'm making good money consistently I'm motivated.
When I'm making hand over fist kind of money, I get super lazy and don't show up for weeks.

    Motivations for going into work:
    * Appointments (I know which of my regulars are coming in when - i.e. today one of my regulars emailed me to say h e can't make it today, so I'm giving myself the day off. I hate "walk-in only" days!)
    * Moneymaking season (I made serious bank this winter and was so not about to miss any shifts!!!)
    * When my dancer friend is there - I like working when she works
    * Good hair days
