    Default CARDIO running vs. walking

So..I have a troubled knee ( a little meniscus tear), and have read various times that running can cause heavy impact on the joints. \
Thing is running kicks me into shape..gets me toned and my heart rate kicken.

I have heard that power walking or walking for at least 30 minutes can give a great cardio workout and help tone up.

I want to know if any of you have a walking cardio regimen. Does it show results?

Swimming is the best overall body workout that is easy on the knees. Power walking is great too and low impact. Yoga is also fantastic for toning purposes and low impact as well.

If you have a bum knee you should avoid running. Swimming, walking, cycling, yoga, pilates, etc. would be better options for you. The weight may not come off as fast but you will avoid the possibility of injury to your knee.

Oh and BTW any form of exercise will show you results if it is done regularly (3- 7 days a week for at least 30 minutes each day). Be sure to couple your exercise with lots of water, vitamins, and a healthy/sensible eating plan to achieve maximum results.

Before I was ready to do running, I started with HIIT walking and just changed the incline instead of varying the speed too much. I've seen results in my endurance but don't think I've been doing it long enough to report on inch loss yet. But I've noticed fat loss.
