A dancer told me she was 25. I have since learned (reliable sources) she is actually 22.
What's the point? 22 is actually more attractive to me (if age makes a difference at all) than 25. Why lie about this?

25 or 22, like you said what is the real difference? IMO it's all part of a fantasy. She already uses a stage name, and many dancers will make up a whole different like including where they are from and school they are going to. No biggie.
There could be numerous reasons, or there could be none at all. Perhaps she thinks 25 sounds more mature. Perhaps she thinks that a year of birth is just one more piece of info which could potentially be used to find out more personal info. Who knows what her reason is, and honestly I'm not sure how many people care all that deeply about it. If it is really an issue, than perhaps your over thinking things or getting too attached.
Heh, if you really want to get into an age issue, then spend a couple years buying a dancer drinks. Then get invited to celebrate her 21st B-day! D'oh!
If you can't win. Make the fellow in front of you break the record.

These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

Not exactly...got into an in-depth discussion one day with another dancer I know quite well. For whatever her own personal reasons, she gave me a lot of dish on a lot of others, not just this one.
There's a mother-daughter team there, and the mom is 47! I wouldn't have guessed a day over 35. The daughter has 4 kids already in mid-20s. (Verification: I heard the younger yelling "mom!" to the older to take her place on stage one day. lol)
Anyway, it's not important how I know, but it seems an odd thing to lie about, in that small a way.

There's really not much point in asking a dancer her age. The majority will lie for different reasons about it, as mentioned above. Why not just get to know her in a more general sense?
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I lie about this all the time, for the reasons saphire outlined. Let's some dude comes up to me and is all, "Oh, you're just a young little thing! How old are you--21? 22?" Why would I ruin his fantasy of me being saying, "Actually, I'll be thirty in six months."
Other things I've been known to lie about: my other jobs, the neighborhood in which I live, and my real name.
Generally, I'm a scrupulously honest person. But as a stripper, lying is an occupational hazard.

Why would telling a few porkies about age be any different from telling a few porkies about her real name, degree of liking for a customer, etc.
Dancers are there to (a) earn a living and (b) furnish a fantasy. Surely misleading someone slightly about her age helps a dancer achieve both those objectives.
Phil.
Most of the time, we don't lie to be malicious. Our name and other personal deets are off limits for obvious saftey reasons.
I swear it bugs me that some guys get so offended by this. We are trying to provide a FANTASY, so we tell you what we think you want to hear (we may not always guess correctly). It's not done out of meanness, we are trying to make you freakin happy!
Just get over it already.

For one, why is this dancer your so friendly with willing to give up dirt on her co-workers? Hope she's not telling on you...

I just started lying about my age this year, but I only bump it down one year. I'm really bummed out about my age (as ridiculous as it may be) and am fearful guys will see me as "middle aged" stripper.
Though truthfully they do guess about 21-23 normally. I'm 26.![]()

She's lying for the same reason we all have stage names. We are someone else when we come ITC. It goes with the job. We get to be whatever we want.
And actually, so do the customers. For example, they can in reality be nothing like the young(er) successful business man they're pretending to be. They get to be mysterious, they get to lie if they think it will help the dancer be more interested in them. I mean you guys do it all the time, why is it so shocking or bothersome to find out that we do the same?
If she's 22, maybe she wants to be more sophisticated. If I'm 26, maybe I don't want to admit that bc the guy I'm dancing for has a thing for the fact that he's got a "young" hot girl all over him. Like you said, you'd find 22 more appealing than 25. This is fantasy. The idea that you're being lied to in order to create a fantasy should come as no surprise and in truth shouldn't matter to you in the least.

Seriously......you are upset that a dancer lied to you? Surprised? Offended? You DEMAND complete honesty from your strippers?
you have 475 posts on here.....my god, man!
I ditto on that. No one - and I mean no one - that I work with gets to hear about my personal life or personal details. I made that mistake before, and lost dances over it.
Me: "Wanna dance?"
custie: "No. I don't want a dance from a girl who has a boyfriend already."
me: "What? But I'm single!"
custie: "Well, Bubbles over there just told me you have a boyfriend named XYZ who is a (profession) and you two just got back from a vacation to Miami."
That kind of crap, all night long.
I also lie about my age. I'll quote from 21 to 29 if the customer gives me a clue as to what he wants. In reality, I'm 23.

Whoa whoa whoa....not surprised or offended in the least that dancers lie. I know why, and I know customers do, too.
My question was actually very narrow: what would be the rationale for lying from 22 to 25? That change seems very inconsequential and not worth lying about, to me.

That does seem pointless to lie about a 3 year age difference. I try to find out as little as possible about the dancer as I can. I don't care that much about her personal business. I may at most ask her age and how long she's been working here. That's usually it unless I've known her for a while. Anything the dancer tells me I forget right away anyway because I'm usually wasted.Half the time, I can't remember the dancer's stage name even after she's danced for me a few times. If I like the dancer after her dancing for me for a few times, I'll make it a point to remember what the DJ called her when she does her set.
Sometimes, it's fun for the dancer and I to just sit and watch other dancers dance, have a drink, then do some dances. Who needs all the awkwardness of getting to know each other and all that BS. The dancers seem to like this; it's less work for them.
Everyman, have an "I don't give a fuck attitude" the next time you're in the SC, you'll have a lot better time.
I'm amazed my fav will be 30 this coming November. Should I dump her for a younger woman?
FBR
Once again I have embraced my addiction and have put off the moral dilemma to another day.

i'll lie about a 3 year differnce when i'm agrring with a guess. for some reason guys around here really like to play the age guessing game, so 99% of the time i just tell them that they're right no matter what it is. your buck = your fantasy.
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?
Because it keeps the job from getting boring. I used to lie that I was older because it made me seem much better preserved. ten years is probably the max I could get away with.![]()
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!
Haha! I used to make stuff up about other girls I worked with to establish rapport with customers that favored themselves as "on the inside" of stripper gossip. I may not have ever met the girl before, and suddenly I telling the customer stuff like she has two bachelor's degrees and is getting ready to start on post grad work in microbiology or that she is in the lastest issue of Maxim or that she travels the world working for the peace corps (I actually know a girl that did this).

i lie about my age because i frequently come off as older than i am. it was fun when i got into clubs when i was a hs freshman. not so fun now that i'm in my mid 20s. actually, guys usually guess right now. younger even. but a couple years ago, they always guessed older.
in that case, i'd rather just tell them what they want to hear than make them think i'm lying about my age and claiming to be younger than they think i am. i don't want to feel like a 40 year old leatherface in a schoolgirl outfit.
it's like telling a guy you're in school. even when i was, they never believed me, so i started saying i dropped out because partying was more fun. lol.
