    Default Random, specific questions

So, I've been reading the board for a few days, and I think I've gotten a lot of info. I hope I will not be asking any repeat questions, and I think they're pretty specific, but I apologize if it's been asked before!

What's with clapping the shoes while dancing on stage??
One strip club that I'm thinking of auditioning at doesn't have a pole, so all the dancing on stage involves a lot of floor work. I notice about half the time, the dancers will clap their shoes together so it makes a nice loud clack sound. Is this purely for sexual appeal for guys? Why is it so? I don't get that!

What is it like working without a CR?

As far as I know, I'm like, 99% positive that the two clubs I want to work at do NOT have champagne rooms. In the aforementioned club, they have areas where there's booth seating and they're in the corners, somewhat raised on platforms and are dark, BUT you can kinda see what's going on. I wonder if it's for safety sake or what..

For what it's worth, where I live, the 21+, alcohol-serving clubs are all nude. Though, it is up to the girl to take everything off. However, 95% of the time, girls get completely naked.

Reading some experiences of CR, I feel like I'll be missing out on something!

How strict is your club regarding sexual encounters?
Besides this site, I've read blogs and other places about various women's experiences working at clubs. Many are sticklers and adhere to strict club rules, some others.. not so much, as in giving sexual favors, doing drugs with customers, etc. That kind of worries me, because while I know the laws here are very strict, I'm not completely naive and know that things will happen. But I would never want to work somewhere where it'd be presumed that during a lap-dance or CR (if there is a club that has it) that the customer would be receiving some sexual favor.

I know that a lot of people don't do that, but I can't help but be worried based on some things I've read. How much of a concern should this be? The establishments I go to are reputable, appear clean, and tend to attract pleasant clientele. I haven't heard anything recenty about any "raids" on local clubs, so that makes me feel better.

I guess I'm just not sure what to expect when I go "behind-the-scenes." How assertive do I need to be so I don't get pressured into doing something?

What was your first couple weeks like?

I think what I'm really nervous about is not getting naked and dancing for customers, but what goes on in the dressing room. When I danced at amateur night, I could tell some of the women I encountered were genuinely nice and personable people, then I could see who weren't and who I could see in the future being aggressive to newbies. I really don't want to step on peoples' toes and I want to have a pleasant relationship with coworkers, but I can see how that might set me up for problems later if I'm too polite and lay like a carpet.

So what was it like? How did you establish yourself as a newbie? What are some signs to watch out for if things are going sour?

    How important is makeup?
I have rather sensitive skin, and I never wear makeup normally. The only makeup I have is some powdery stuff I was using to cover up a bruise on my leg when I danced in amateur night. My lips are naturally dark, and I only wear lip balm when I need to. I was hoping I could go for a natural look, since I look pretty young and I thought that could be my niche - natural, innocent girl kind of thing. (Of course, I'd wax the necessary parts though. I can't be THAT natural!! Unless of course, it's Birkenstock and Granola night..)

If it should be necessary, what are some brands you'd recommend that aren't harsh and are as natural as possible? My skin can't handle much more than gentle lotions without breaking out in spots.

Purse, shoes, or garter belt for money?
What's the safest and easiest way you find for carrying your money around? I liked the idea of rubber-banding money and folding it over a garter, but I'd be afraid it'd fall out. A little purse would be convenient, but it sounds easy to steal. I've actually never seen any girls at strip clubs here use tip shoes, but that sounds interesting.

Would it be quicker and safer to run to your locker and squirrel it away there?

I think that's all my nervous head can come up with, so thanks for any advice!

Reading some experiences of CR, I feel like I'll be missing out on something! The CR's are in the back so maybe you just haven't seen them since they're kinda hidden- i'm sure you'll find out soon enough though. You kida do would be missing out without CRs cause thats where the big money happens. However it is very reallistic to make really good money just by doing lots of lap dances all night- its just more effort and more tiring.

This depends on which area of the country you are in, for example, florida is notorious for extras, while the rest of the country with a few exeptions is mild. Usually the clubs set these rules about whats allowed, and they try to keep it clean for fear of raids. But also, noone can pressure you into doing anything you're not comfortable with.

This also kind of depends on the club culture but most of the time the girls are pleasant and helpfull. the first week is kinda a blur cause you're learning all this new stuff and concentrating on not falling over in the shoes. The important thing is to lock your stuff up, trust your gut and don't get too drunk.

there are some girls that don't wear makeup, and it works for them If you can, try to still wear eyeliner and mascara and accentuate your eyes

I personally wear it in a garter rubber banded and i have never had any episodes of losing it- its pretty secure. some girls wear it ruber banded around their ancle and thats effective as well. locker squirelling is not a good idea as you don't want to be interrrupted and have to run back to the dressing room every time you get a dollar. the purse is ok but more risky since you can't always be watching it.

I think that's all my nervous head can come up with, so thanks for any advice!
    good luck
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

    Awesome, thanks for the tips!

As far as I know, there's only one club in town with a VIP section. One club has private table dances, but it's still in the main area. However, clubs are pretty creative when it comes to laying out the dancing and floor area to maintain some sort of privacy.

Really, I think it's because Alaska is the highest for certain sex crimes, and I'm guessing there's a municipal code forbidding private rooms or something.

shoe clapping is an attention getter. it makes a loud noise, causing people to look your direction, causing them to see what a sexy lady you are, causing them to give you money.
"If she wants to dance and drink all night, well there's no one that can stop her. She's going til the house lights come up or her stomach spills onto the floor. This night is gonna end when we're damn well ready for it to be over, worked all week long, and now the music is playing on our time. Yeah we do what we do to get by, and then we need a release!" - Against Me!, "Thrash Unreal"

My first week was the hardest. I was in a lot of pain from muscle soreness and I was in excellent shape! The shoes change everything, though. So be prepared for sore muscles where you didn't even know you had muscles. I recommend just working though the soreness and taking some advil with you to work. Also epsom salt baths work to relieve some soreness.

I always carried a purse for money. I got the kind with a very long strap and would sling it over my shoulder so that both hands were free while the purse was secure.

Be aware that people break laws and get away with it all the time. The management that is a stickler with the rules for you will look the other way with his favorites. It's not fair, but that is the reality of the situation. If you see other girls breaking the rules, don't assume that you'll not get in trouble either.

Some clubs require you to wear makeup. Not all of them, though. Be sure and check with the club on their "dress code". I worked with a girl that never wore makeup in her entire 12 year career.

    Thanks for the input!

I am so super psyched, because last night I met with a friend and her girlfriend who was a stripper for eight years in town. They gave me so much helpful information about things I didn't know. The clubs pay minimum wage (is that normal?), the house fees don't sound too bad, and they just gave me lots of tips what to do/not to do. They even gave me an outfit, which was a great fit! I bought my first pair of shoes, and I'm just itching to get out there.

The club I want to work at is not the biggest, but they said it's a great place to start off at, and it's a lot less drama-filled and catty. It also just got a renovation, and now can serve alcohol throughout the entire establishment. It's clean, well-maintained and has lots of security. They're sure I can get a job there - I sure hope they're right! I love going there as a customer, so I am aching to get employed there!

The clapping shoe thing on stage-- an attention getter. Dont do this too much because it is kind of obnoxious and if you overdo it, disrespectful to the other girls who are trying to hold the attention of customers to sell them a fantasy.

Without a CR- Ive worked in 2 clubs without a CR. It just means you are focused on selling dances and makes a faster paced hustle. You can still make bank but like sapphire said, its harder work. Its not a bad way to start out though because a. it will get you in shape and b. you only have to focus on selling dances, which are easier to sell than CRs. If you find guys who like you, have money, but want company instead of dances, try to take them to one of those corners you were describing and sell your time by the block or something to that effect, so you can still make money off of them. That is kind of like selling a CR but less formal. Plus, getting paid to sit on your ass and talk is awesome.

The sexual encounters vary. Ugh. hopefully your club is not a notorious extras club, because that attracts a lot more raunchy customers. If you have no CR then there are probably less full out extras... Its hard to give a beej in plain view. Then again at one club i worked at that was small with almost no privacy, a girl got caught letting a guy finger her. Always stick to what you are comfortable with. You can make money being a clean dancer, though having extras girls around taking some money will be very disheartening at times.

My first couple of weeks were fun. I was at a club notorious for having dangerous dancers (i was warned by one girl from a different club that they would jump me in the parking lot) but i did a good job of avoiding drama and for the most part got along with everyone. One girl was awesome enough to take me under her wing and show me the ropes, but most people are not fortunate enough to have someone like her around. I try to do the same for newbies when they come through because she really helped me out with everything from calming me down for my audition, giving me tips how to dance and talk to customers, giving me confidence, and sellng double dances with me. Be warned though, not all dancers who offer to mentor you have the best intentions.... The wierdest part for me was hitting on men who beforehand i would have seen as a grandfatherly figure. The first time an old guy acted interested in me i was like terrified. It took me a while to get used to talkin to them so i could target them, as opposed to the younger guys who i was already good at seducing. Finding out how dirty "sweet old men" are was a shocker. I didnt make nearly as much money then as i did now, but at the time i thought i was banking lol. My first night i came home with 150 and felt like a baller!

As for makeup, I would say its important. You are selling a fantasy, so you want to look better tahn you would if you were going to the supermarket. If you go for the natural look thats awesome, but i would still put on makeup so you look polished and like you care about your appearence, just use neutral shades and do it in a way to enhance your features. Bare minerals foundation is great for sensitive skin and if you get it with the shimmer mineral veil it makes your skin glow. Its kind of pricey though. I think there are some cheaper brands of the same type of stuff that work just as well. Don't pile it on and take it off before going to bed and your skin should be able to handle it.

For storing money, i would do garter or garter on shoe so it is attatched to you. The tips shoes look fun, but they are more of a novelty and also they are not appropriate for upscale clubs. If you are worried about losing money, put two rubber bands around it. I have never carried around a purse, but i never carry one around IRL. Watching one while trying to deal with the million other things going on at the club sounds like unnecessary hassle to me.

Best of luck. You said you were excited so you should do fine. Keep up the excited and happy to be there perky attitude and customers will love you!
