    Default REALLY DRY hair

i have been having bleach put on my hair for the last 2 years, it was in good cndition as i always have it trimmed regulary, always use a hair mask, leave in conditioner and oils/serums on it, only straighten it once or twice a week, never blow dry it but all of a sudden it seems to have gone really dry. i have started putting conditioner on it b4 i wash it for 10 mins(read it in a magazine). i try to only wash it twice a week.

just wondered if anyone could recommend anything to make it really soft again? any kinda oils or anything?

    have you tried olive oil?

i heard about this from a moroccan girl, have been using it for about a year on my ends which are super brittle and dry.

pour around half to three quarters of a teaspoon olive oil into the palm of your hand (you can also add a few drops of scented oil) and rub your hands together to coat them. starting at the tips, work the oil into damp hair untill about 2 inches from your roots (oiling your roots tends to weigh your hair down and make it look greasy) comb through and let your hair air-dry. your hands will also be soft and moisturized by the oil

L'Oreal Pro Intense Repair Hair Masque-This is amazing it made my damaged hair so soft.
Also i recommend Redken Anti Snap treatment no more then twice a week, this really made my hair stronger and i always get compliments on how nice my hair is now. Be careful to not use it more than 2 or 3 times a week though as it is protein based and will make your hair brittle.

Ojon conditioner is pricey but VERY much worth it for truly damaged hair IMO.

    I use this stuff:

Dry or wet, it's a damn miracle worker. I have extremely thick, wavy, very blonde hair (dyed) and it makes it feel like silk.

I recommend using Lanza. If nothing else their trauma leave in treatment and magic bullet hair healer. It's a 10 is also absolutely amazin stuff. I bleached my hair for a long time and it took months for it to look healthy again. If you baby it, you should be able to make it happy again.

Take one avocado. Peel and Mash. Add one egg. Mix well. Add to this TWO dollops of mayo ( REAL mayonnaise ) Mix well. Smooch all of this into your hair, use a wide tooth comb to slick it all it. Wrap your hair around your head. Wrap in a heated towel and let sit for thirty minutes. Wash your hair.

    Voila!

That's a good one. Wet your hair, run organic coconut oil through it, wrap hair in a hot wet towel and 20 minutes later wash your hair and iit'll feel amazing.

Besides the great suggestion (like olive oil, etc),definitely consider taking supplements like biotin and calcium, makes hair stronger from inside out.
I also always use a leave in conditioner plus a non-alcohol shine serum.

Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco masque. Put it in and wrap your hair up in a hot towel and sit around for an hour or so. Then wash it out. It's really incredible.

I love feria's deep conditioner that they sell at sally beauty supply. It's the same conditioner that comes in the hair dye boxes, but a larger version. It has the silicone crap, so it's really just coating your hair, but it makes it look & feel healthier.

Cholesterol. You get it in the ethnic hair section of any drugstore or grocery store. Its SUPER cheap...like $4 for a jar big enough to last you months. Coat wet hair in it and wrap it in Suran Wrap and a hot towel. Let it sit for @ an hour, then rinse out. Amazing stuff...esp for the price!

I've been bleaching my hair up from almost black to a level 10 pale blonde for five years now. my hair feels like silk and is also very strong. here's a list of products that I have used that I ADORE........

-joico moisture recovery line;i curently use this, and just love it.
    -joico k-pak line
    - redken all soft with anti snap breakage serum
    -bumble&bumble gentle line
    - bumble and bumble curl formula red line (i have wavy hair)

all of these are outstanding, but right now, my absolute fave is joico's moisture recovery line. it smells good, really moisturizes, has protien in it, and even makes bleached hair shiny.

I have platinum blonde locks myself, so I feel ya on dryness.

My mum is a hair dresser [yay!] and every time we dye my hair, after shampooing with Shimmer Lights [it's purple! badass. and takes a lot of orange-y gold blahness out of hair gradually], she doesn't condition [yet] she puts on a sealant [feels divine after bleach rape] called Joico K-Pak Professional Cuticle Sealer [comes in a large tan-ish bottle], leaves it on for 8 minutes or so, rinses it out and conditions with Nexus [sp?] Humectress [sp?] conditioner.

My hair is "gummy" when wet but is otherwise of the good [not dry].

If you can swing it, pick up some of that sealant to use after bleaching. It's worth the $30.

    Good luck.

I hate dry hair! I've tried SO many different products, but it seemed that my hair would stop responding to them.

I am currently using virgin coconut oil -- it's natural, fragrance-free and economical ( less than $10 from the health food store. )

It's solid at room temperature, so fill a bowl with hot tap water and set the ( unopened ) jar in the bowl. Once it liquifies, saturate your hair with it, massaging from scalp to roots. Put your hair up in a warm towel ( with or without a shower cap ) -- and let sit for at least an hour ( overnight is even better! ) -- then shampoo thoroughly.

I also use apple cider vinegar once a week ( the el cheapo store brand was only $0.89! ) Rinsing with it helps balance the pH of hair and removes buildup from styling products -- leaving it shiny, smooth and easier to manage ( sorry for sounding like a commercial, lol )

Mix 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar with 1 quart water. Apply & leave the rinse on your hair. Don't worry about the vinegar smell -- it disappears completely as your hair dries!

Store this mixture in a plastic bottle and keep it in the shower for ready use.

    Good luck!

Same here! I know being indoors during the winter was a contributing factor to my crispy strands... I just drank more water, tossed my blow dryer/curling iron in the trash, and paid more attention to deep conditioning. I read somewhere that your PILLOWCASES may have something to do with drying out your hair, as well as breakage -- so I switched my pillowcases to satin ones!
