yeah, the cop that came to my house was really cool and sympathetic..... until my cat randomly jumped from the floor on his shoulders, all claws out. He freaked, and was like "Get you f*cking cat off me now!" and running around, and I was trying not to laugh, but he was saying it like I somehow commanded my cat to attack him lol! WTF?

    Seriously, this worries me.

I have had a few run ins with police also in my day and have gone as far as calling one Deputy Dip Shit to his face, but now that I'm a little older and wiser, I see how hard their jobs really are.

They get paid a modest salary to protect the safelty of a larger population. If they got mowed down in the Streets by criminals every single week where you live like they do where I live, you might have a little more respect for a job that most of us are too chicken shit to do.
FUCK the police, I do not like ANY of them, yes Im sure there are some good ones. I dont give a flying FUCK what they have to put up with, thats their choice- they went to school to be a cop. Protect??? please whatever! My ex husband used to beat me til I blacked out. I didnt have anyone to turn to, my mom was out using drugs and I dont know where my dad is. After I would try to call the cops, secerty and they would ask when all this happened and why didnt I call then.. umm bc the whole reason I got beat was becasue I was tryn to leave, and alot of the times I did not know what time it happened bc, I would be out for a few hours. My ex tried to shoot me, I have a huge ass scar where the site cut me. of course I didnt go to the hospital, you really think he would have let me go? no I had to keep it wrapped up for a few weeks so it would heal. the only time I called 911 and my ex was tryn to kill me with a pillow, I started to black out and his grandma walked in and he got off me. the cops came then but it took them like 45 mins! and ya Im going to say he tried killing me, and Ive told yall this lot of times?? what they are going to put me in a shelter and he would just find me anyways..

I did was not disrepectful at all, they are fucking lazy pigs and thats all there is to it.

Too often though, the cops decide that they do not care to do the paperwork and take the extra time especially when they are close to shift change. In regards to your not being informed of your Miranda rights, I had a similar situation a few years back and the arresting officer actually consulted a book of statutes/charges to decide what he felt like charging me with. Through my entire time in custody I was never Mirandized, and when I was being released made a crack about this fact and the captain on duty informed me of my worthlessness and the fact that I had no rights "while in his house". When this was brought to the attention of the judge, I was then informed that since no questioning took place that I did not have to be informed of my rights.

I would suggest documenting any damage you sustained, as has been so wisely suggested already, find out the name and badge number or just the name of your arresting officer (should be on your citation), and make a formal complaint with a ranking officer in the same precinct. You may also ask to speak with someone from internal affairs, since technically based on your story the officer not only is guilty of dereliction of duty, but also abuse of power (this one will be a bit harder if not impossible to prove, but any formal complaint whether it is confirmed or not, will remain in his jacket for the rest of his career and may help to prove a pattern should another issue occur). During the course of making your complaint regarding the offending officer, insist on filing charges against your problem girl. If she is responsible for your injuries and there are witnesses to corroborate your story, should you sue her any lost wages or moneys spent which can be directly attributed to this injury will also be her responsibility should you sue, but you must have proper evidence of this injury and notation from a healthcare professional clearly identifying the injury and your resulting inability to perform in a regular capacity given the physical requirements of your job, as well as some sort of timeline regarding how long you will be unable to work while you heal. Also, if you made complaints with police prior to this incident, obtain copies of the report or official complaint in order to show history as well as your attempts to avoid escalation. These will also be useful when filing your official complaint regarding the offending officer.

As far as the girl not having much in the way of money but her husband having financial resources, depending on local laws, even if they do not reside in the same home, if they are still legally married and have not filed for a legal separation, the marital assets are shared and even if she did not earn a dime of these assets, a finding against her can be levied from "her" assets regardless of who earned them.

As a side note, I agree wholeheartedly with you regarding your distrust and lack of faith in the police. I come from a police/law family and I have an arrest record nearly as long as my leg, almost no convictions, but too many arrests to even speak of. It has been my observation that the reasons for a person becoming an officer of the law have shifted for the most part from people who wanted to protect the community and do good acts, to a majority of law enforcement who are merely power hungry or were social pariahs and see this as a way to feel the empowerment in life that they have never had before which leads to the all too common blatant abuse of power.

    Good luck.

I made a complaint on an officer before to the cheif about how when I filed charges against my ex for beating on me he said that they were not going to do anything that it was a was of time and the paper work was A LOT!! It was one page of paper work. It was pretty much he told me I could come pick of some of my stuff and when I got in the house and turned my back on him he started hitting me. I tried to run out of the house, he draged me back into the room and I finally got away.

Nothing happened to my ex or the office... go figure.
It just really sucks that gots suck and bc you think they suck you can get in trouble for it..

Bambi, did you read my post? That girl that assaulted me had to pay 500$ and has an assault charge on her record now. As much as you distrust the legal system, you have to learn to use it in your favor. I was attacked and assaulted, yet I was the one who had to file a complaint, drive to the detective's office, and follow through the system to get justice. They don't care if you're a victim, you have to be the one to do all the leg work, they won't do it for you. Maybe some cops out there truly care about people and have a desire to help strangers, but IMO most of them are just "doing a job" and could care less what happened to you. PLEASE go file a report ASAP!!! It will be worth it once that girl gets arrested, I promise.

i dont have the money to go to the doctor or hospital. there is a charity hospital 45mins away, but I dont know if they will see me, but I will try tommorow. I am going to the court house tommorow and see if they charged that girl with anything, I know they didnt. I dont have 50$ to go to small claims court today and I wont for a while. so I guess I will go talk to someone about that.. I dont want to go do that bc I dont like conflict and I dont want to go and not win. Just seems to be my luck right now. but I am going to get things ready for court.. I reported her to OSHA, the managers and police.

The managers are not going to do anything to help either one of us. they usually are cool, but they know that girl went there just to fight me and why let her in??!???!?? its not like she had any money to spend!!
And they are letting a lot of girls work without their licence so they dont want any cops there.

I live in Texas too, and was assaulted by a dancer. Here's my story: http://forum.stripperweb.com/showthread.php?t=130551

    1. Go to the Emergency Room closest to you. They don't require you to pay right away, you can pay whenever you can afford to.

    2. Call 911, a cop will come to your house, file a report.

    3. The cop will give you a number to call, call that number and give them your report number. They will tell you which detective is assigned to your case and his phone number.

    4. Call that detective and explain what happened. He will then investigate, find the girl and possible arrest her right there.

    5. The girl will either sit in jail or bond out for an amount of money. The girl who assaulted me paid 500$. Then you will be given a court date, and you will have to see her there.

    6. With your Emergency Room evidence, and hopefully pictures you took, along with the police report, the judge will decide whether she is guilty or not, but it sounds like a no brainer.

    7. The girl lives with an assault charge, which will haunt her future career endeavors.

I have a story too. When my ex wanted a divorce I would not leave my house yes MY house as she put no money into it. She went to the police and said she was afraid of me; I never touched her in anger. They took her to a judge who gave her possession of the house and ordered my removal. Three armed officers came and I was give 15 minutes to gather what I could and I did not see the inside of my house for 1 and 1/2 years until after the divorce was final and I bought it from her. New Jersey is like that.

And may I add, while you most likely will not have to take the girl to small claims, if you do what J.D. says, you can also sue for court costs as well. So yes you'd have to put up the money but you will get it back. Also, you have either 30 or 90 days to file a claim.

<--------- this part made me laugh.. she is a coke whore.. she has no future. dont get me wrong I believe people can change, I grew up in the AA, and NA halls but she is not one of those kinds of people.

I am going to the courthouse tommorow, and make sure they did an assult charges. then Im going to the ER cause I cant tonight I have my kids.
I am getting my mom to take pictures.. I have had more buises come up.. one on my neck where she first hit me and one on the back of my arm I couldnt see.
But Im going to sue her, we have a few J.Ps in the area, the one that live where I like where I will have to go. knows my dad and mom very well. My dad did some concret work for him, my mom rents a house from him, and I went to school with all of his kids. Me and his daughters were in a few pageants together. Not saying that bc I know him I will win, I he knows how I am, that I did not provoke any of this. So thats good. I am going to get the OSHA and police report.

you have two years to file a claim.. I talked to the judge I know today, he was really nice.. I didnt take pictures sooner! I wish I did, but I really domt want to take her to court but damn I have too.. I went to the ER today, and waited 7 hours, got an xray, nothing is broken. but he said I should really not walk at all til the swelling goes down.. damns its already been a week and its still swollen, and I havent wore high heels since then, but in the whole mess I twisted my foot and somehow bruised it too and i cant wear any shoes that cover that part of my foot it really hurts..
I still have not gone to court yet..I am going TOMMOROW! I finally got an apt with my crazy doc. and I had to try to take care of my grants because school is starting soon. I got the insurance lady to give me a piece of paper showing I tried to get insurance. So I have that and a payment paper from my surcharge. PRAY that he just gives me a bigger speeding charge than another no insur.

I'm glad you went yay! At least in the medical report that doc can put that it was swollen, so that is now documented.

I just started having this problem tho, I drove alot today and did alot of walking, and my foot keeps going numb. I told them that at the hospital, he said it should go away. but after it goes numb for so long it starts to hurt

babybambi, I haven't read your story complete, but if the police have failed to take action, you should go to the DA's office to file a citizen's complaint. If the DA's office fails to do anything (because it is not egregious enough for them), try the municipal court prosecutor's office. The difference is that the district attorney deals with major criminal offenses (class A & B misdemeanors and felonies) and the municipal court prosecutors deal with minor criminal offenses (traffic tickets, code violations and fine-only Class C misdemeanors, e.g. "offensive touching" assaults). Make sure you take pictures with you and any other evidence you have. You'll be required to fill out forms and attach copies of any pictures and other evidence. A municipal court prosecutor will review your citizens complaint and decide whether to issue a misdemeanor assault citation. Call often to follow up, as they get many many citizen complaints and will likely give more attention to the squeaky wheel.

Do you have to pay when you file the claim in court or can you wait until your case comes up?

ya I am.. I got a no insurance and speeding ticket the day before. thats why I went to work. Well I went to the courthouse today and the judge was soo nice! He give me 30 days to pay my surcharge, and get a licence and insure. I showed him I was paying on my surcharge (which suspended my DL, and why I couldnt get insur) So I need to make like 500 in 30 days which I can. and he said he would dismiss my new ticket and would decied on my speeding ticket when I came back!!

The jail had not sent over anything to the court. I was supposed to go to court on or BEfore the 10th.. so stupid.
