Mind Blowing Am I too pale to dance?

I just moved to Austin, TX from the Bay Area.
I no longer have my dreads, and now only have piercings in my ears so I guess I'm not "alternative" anymore technically. However, I am still ridiculously pale. As in- you can see my veins through my skin kind of pale. I haven't been in the clubs here yet, but it seems like everyone in this state is either golden-brown or fake-baked. Should I just go ahead and fake-tan, or try to sell the elvira thing?

I had a guy buy several dances off me and told me it was because I had 'beautiful pale skin, not faked like the other girls'. TBH I'm pale as they come - with freckles, but still a top earner.

I'm not in TX, but I will say I am also have very pale almost translucent skin. You can trace all my veins as well. I don't tan or anything, but I do rock the goth look which works well for me.

As a Wisconsin resident, I am very pale, and I make very good money.

It's all about knowing which clothes to wear. Don't wear colors/outfits that wash your skin out--wear things that highlight your skin tone.

I'm very fair as well, and I always suggest red. I love it. Unless you're going for the goth look, I'd steer from black and go for jewel tones.

It's good to stand out! Who cares if you arent fake baked?!

Im in Houston, and I am also very pale. I do airbrush tanning, and love it. I don't feel comfortable when i'm not tan, because I have things to hide... stretch marks, acne, etc... But some girls really pull off pale skin well, it just depends on the person I guess.

I don't personally think you can be "too anything" to dance. Just find things that look good on you and rock it girl! I'm pale too, and while I have tanned a bit sometimes I think pale looks better on me. My only tip would be to make sure to be VERY in shape and really toned, especially in the ass area because I find tanning hides a bit of the bumps and to have your body look awesome and pale you need to be superfit.

^^ True. I stopped tanning when I lost weight and no one seemed to notice I was in better shape. Then I started again and all of a sudden people were saying I looked much smaller.

Money hasn't changed though so it's probably not worth the cancer.

i am half irish half scandanavian, so i am EXTREMELY pale. It hasnt hurt my money. I tell guys i am swedish and they love it.

I agree with mediocrity...red is a great color. Definitely keep in shape and keep your skin as blemish free and smooth as possible without slathering yourself in lotion before going to work. Depending on your personal sense of fashion, it is easy to play the old school classy or pinup doll or goth look with pale skin.

Club lights are typically very flattering on most skin tones... your pale skin will probably glow and stand out in a good way . Be confident and feel sexy and you will be fine.

if you're in shape, pale is just fine. a lot of girls do great with pale skin. try it, and if money isn't where you want it, try a fake tanner to see if it makes a difference.

if you're really, really pale, you might want to use a day or two worth of gradual tanner, to just give you a tiny bit of color. super pale can look a little weird under black lights (sometimes, not always).

i think super pale looks different under black lights depending on what skin tone it is. The fair ivory skin tone looks great. Ive noticed when girls have yellow tones to their skin and are very pale it doesnt look as good, i think its because those skin tones usually tan naturally when exposed to the sun.

You're in Austin. That's like a little pocket of *something else* that happens to be inside Texas. You can get away with being pale.

I used to work with a girl with Dark hair and egg shell white skin and she did really well. I dunno about in Texas but here in Florida most of the girls tan. the only thing you can do is try it out, if you feel unconfortable in your paleness you go always tan-

My keyboard always gets stuck so sorry if I have typos, I swear I know how to spell in English!

    You and me both!

I think you should sell 'you.' The club lights should make you look less pale.

Plus, you'll be 'exotic' compared the other girls.

Wow, I'm going to go against the grain on this.

I'm very pale as well... as in you can see my veins if I don't get fake baked. However, if I don't use a fake bake I literally glow and get hounded by the guys about it:

"OMG, what did you do to your skin?! It glows."

They are totally serious too. I know they aren't trying to be insulting, they are oddly mesmerized by it.

HOWEVER, to avoid all of the questioning and get guys to actually concentrate on their dances and buy more dances, I would suggest getting a light hint of color.

Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.
