Default Newbie - I'd like some feedback on my stage name

Hi! I'm in the St. Louis area and ready to break into the dancing world. I will be auditioning in about a week and a half, and I've been reading this forum like crazy (its full of really great stuff ladies! Thanks).

I was hoping you could give me some feedback on a couple possible stage names, I don't have too many people I can ask opinions from.

    Axiom

    Missa

    Tessa

Are any of them good sounding names? easy enough? sexy enough?

    Thanks!

I have never heard of Axiom, I think it would be hard to pronounce and you'd have to deal with constant questioning of what it means, how you got it etc. my name is my hair color, which makes it easy for customers to remember both me AND my name. it's also only 2 syllables, which is easier to hear over music than 3 syllables. Missa sounds like a southern-accent version of missy, so idk if i really like that one either. tessa might not be bad, because it sounds like it could be your real name. honestly hun, there's nothing wrong with just having a typical stripper name. those with difficult names tend to be forgotten about, rather than remembered for their "interesting name." just pick a random name and work on creating a signature look for yourself. that will have a huge impact on your dancing career, whereas your name really wont matter much.

good luck on your audition babe!

ooh, I really like Tessa. But that's just me.

I would just try and generate a name that really makes you get in touch with yourself. Like an alternate ego/persona or something.

I used to be SUPER shy and before I even dared to THINK about dancing (had never even dated or interacted with men lol) I ended up developing a persona that was everything I wanted to be (confident, sensual, charming, etc).

So whenever I had to do something that I was afraid of failing at (like when I started working at my current job, started dating) I would kind of tap into this person, and overtime I BECAME those qualities. (you know-fake it til you make it)

Anyway,- back on topic- that's how I developed my stage name (Zora). But now I AM that person lol, so I don't even need the name anymore. And probably will end up not even using it on stage...

So, I'm not really an expert on stage names at this point, but the best advice I could feign to offer is to pick something that just completely transforms you into what would make you operate at your best level- whether it's a name that makes you feel super Sexy, Confident, or just Friendly or Charismatic.

    ^^^ Yes!

Tessa is by far the best that you listed because people will pick it up right away and it will be easier to distinguish when the DJ calls you.

um axiom reminds me of math proofs. since i am a math major i dont consider this a bad thing, but i am not a fair representation of the general population. if i was unaware of what an axiom was, i dont think i would consider it a very feminine name. remember, you want to come across as a fantasy woman, not a tomboy. also,.. for some men if they are aware that axiom is typically something used to describe abstract concepts, they might be intimidated. there is a time and place to show off intellect... strip clubs are not often the place. there are some exceptions though (one guy paid me to talk differential equations and tell dirty math jokes to him lol) but they are few and far between.

missa im not fond of, tessa is pretty good.

are you a math or physics person? i was thinking maybe you substitued tessa for tesla or soemthing to that effect. i was considering tesla as a stage name for a bit lol.

Definitely tessa.. Its playful and sexy.. You want something easy for drunk guys to pronounce and if it sounds real you can say it's your real name..

Thanks for the feedback! I thought Tessa was the best pick, but I had to throw Axiom out there for the heck of it! I'm not a math major, the story behind it is a long one, but I use it as a screenname for a lot of things and to me it feels like a really powerful name, but you're right probably to intellectual and hard to pronounce for a club. Tessa feels sexy!

I like axiom but it is because I am a communications major. An axiom in interpersonal communication is a saying that is widely accepted. Plus it is different. I have danced with sooo many tessa's. Missa is not bad. I also think Misha is cute and Minka(it means cunt in japanesse or chinesse I think).

i like tessa. i as just having this conversation with the dj at my club today. we were talking about how this one chick called herself delicious, and he thought it just sounded lke the stereotypical stripper name. this other chick just changed her name from innocence to jessica. she said she thought innocene was to long, in terms of syllables. anyways i like tessa, some other names i like are ": kara (car -uh), kate, misty, jess, - i like names that are unisex as well, i.e., chase, and i cant think of anymore, just finished work and im brain dead.

Axiom you will get a lot of WTFs over and "What's your REAL name?"

Missa to me sounds like a little kid trying to say Melissa. Actually why not Melissa? I never hear it anymore.

Tessa is the best one in my opinion.

I like Tessa. It sounds like a normal name. As strange as it sounds many normal names work as well as exotic names.

+1 Tessa. Nobody will know what you're saying if you choose Missa and they won't be able to remember it. I could see some people pulling off Axiom.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking with Missa, the more I think about it the more I'm like WTF? why was that an option? (its my in-laws nickname for me)

I would go with Melissa cuz I really like the name, but its my real name lol

I think Tessa it is! Thanks!
