Default Cleaning Out the Stripper Closet

When I first started stripping like a year and a half ago, I carried a backpack to and from work that had all my outfits in it. Then I graduated to carrying a suitcase that was pretty full. Then I said "fuck it" and got a lock and started using the tiny lockers there. And I only kept my top outfits, shoes, and stripper jewelry in there. The suitcase I threw in the trunk of my car, where it sat for a good six months or so.

So the other day, I decided to bring the suitcase inside and go through it. And OMG what the hell was I thinking? There wasn't a single outfit in that suitcase that I could imagine wearing in a million years. And I used to wear them all the time. I mean, even the G-strings weren't shaped right for my ass. Granted, I've gone down several sizes since I started stripping, but I was always pretty small.

    Like this one: http://www.flirtcatalog.com/p-81463-...skirt-set.aspx

Looks great on the model...but the top actually fits like a sports bra. NO cleavage. NO shaping. So tight in the bust it pushes you totally flat-and I'm a 34D, my tits are a big moneymaker. And the skirt is ridiculously long. Absolutely terrible.

    And this one: http://www.flirtcatalog.com/p-84363-...xy-skirts.aspx

Good idea...but the way the top fit, I might as well have brought in my boyfriend's shirt to wear, because it was about that loose, and it wrinkled immediately and looked infinitely terrible when it wasn't freshly ironed. And the skirt was waaaay too long, and if I sweated at all when wearing it, the blue dye would run and stain my legs and G-string, even after washing it.

Everytime I see newbies going crazy with buying the outfits, I'm always like, "DON'T. You'll regret it. Buy two or three things you absolutely love, and then wait." Cause inevitably, they'll shell out all this cash for something they "kinda like," just cause they feel weird only having two or three outfits. And maybe they'll wear it a few times, and then it goes into the back of the locker, where she'll discover it in six months and be horrified with herself.

What about you, ladies? What are some of the horrendous fashion and/or makeup mistakes you've made?

just bought my first pair of ellie shoes wich are amazingly comfortable but big mistake i bought white thats the only color the store had at the time and the first night they got discustingly dirty so i will stick to black shoes

I fell into the trap of thinking I needed a wide variety of outfits when I was starting off, too. Then I eventually began to notice that most of the girls wore the same outfit every day, or every other day. They found what look worked for them and did not deviate from it.

One problem that i have, still, is that I order a lot of stuff from the internet that ends up not looking right on me. I hate going to the local stripper store and paying those inflated prices. But it's a catch-22, because the cheap stuff online only works for me 1/3 of the time.

I'm cleaning out my stripper closet, too. Just sold some stuff on ebay.

Ive been wearing the same few outfits the last 5 years. One has always been my top money maker and all it is is a black lace bra and tiny black skirt. Ive lost all my dancer crap over the years. Im glad I started so long ago I dont remember what I wore when I started...

I fell in love with this yellow and white corset that was so awesome right up until I had to put it back on after stage and pinched myself horribly.

I also did had overkill on various outfits when I started. One of the girls at the first club told me I needed at least 15-20 to start. I spent money I didn't have and bought all kinds of awful crap plus a dose of gothic school girl for good measure.

15-20?!?!??! I wonder if she was just trying to mess with you, or if she REALLY had that many outfits. Either way, yikes!

Firemaiden-- Your description of all of that (including the movement from using a suitcase to finally getting a locker) matches my experience exactly.

I wore some god-awful stuff when I started. I didn't know what strippers wore, so I went out and bought Victoria's Secret thongs (cloth) and a whole bunch of other stripper-wannabe clothes that were just too tight in all of the wrong places.

I now wear an average of one or two outfits over the course of a night. I have maybe, maybe 5 money-making outfits that I rarely deviate from. And that's what works for me.

AHHHH me too! I never thought your outfits were that bad. But I'm sure we're both cringing about the times when I wore my flapper Halloween dress, the one with the dangling cheap sequins, when it wasn't even Halloween! There were plenty of others too, but I need to stop thinking about this right now! The shame!

I was another one of the lengerie wearing strippers in the beginning. A bra and a cloth thong or panties (might as well have "new girl" written on my forehead haha) was my stripper wardrobe.
It's soooo pathetic I have boxes of stripper clothes that haven't been worn. Either "I'll loose weight and it'll work" or "I'll need this *insert useless piece of crap* for an outfit one day" and the one we've all used I'm sure "It looks okaaaaay.... maybe it'll look great when I get home?" LOL NOT.
I need to go through it, I think the only reason I don't is because I'll be disgusted at all the money down the drain.

Ugh, I bought this ugly set that was a diagonal cut on the top and the bottom in neon colors. It looked cute on the hanger at the time. I've discovered that I always hate diagonal cuts... on me or anyone else. They make things look un-proportional. I'll never buy anything with a diagonal cut again!
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

When I first started I had a baby pink faux fur outfit kind of like the fembots wore in Austin Powers with matching pink fuzzy slippers. Totally something someone old fashioned would wear "trying to be sexy"
