    Post first night.

So last night I started working at the club. I have no experience in dancing except winning the ameteur contest a week prior. Luckily my neighbor downstairs who works at the club as well helped me pick out outfits and basically guided me through the entire night.

I had one customer and he paid for 2 lapdances and one VIP. I went on the stage once during the night and nervously danced. There is SO much I can't do I've realized thats like essential. I can't even do the booty clap or whatever you want to call it where just the butt shakes! I can't do the splits really well either.

I saw girls do some wild stuff, that literally made my jaw drop. I feel discouraged because I know until I learn that stuff I'm going to make shit tips.

Last night was dry for everyone. I made alright, some girls only left with 50 bucks after tipping out, so I guess its not ALL based on skill.

Being new bites, but it was still fun.

Sweetie relax! It sounds like you had an awesome first night! Don't get yourself down bc of what you can't do, look at what you did do!

Besides, the stuff you're talking about isn't necessarily essential. I don't do the booty clap, and I don't do the insane flying trapese stuff either and I do just fine. The more comfortable you get being on stage the better you will naturally become. It just takes time to feel like that in front of ppl. You will get better. And if you had fun and made money than I would consider your very first night a success!

^ Exactly. When I first started, I didn't even make eye contact with customers. For basically my first six months or so, I did nothing but dance onstage and sit at the bar because I was too shy to talk to people.

You're well on your way to greatness!

make eye contact, act like you are confident if you arent, if you do these things men will think your awesome. you could be standing on stage barely moving. i know girls that do that. men dont care, well most men, dont care if you are doing the most advanced pole tricks. justbe confident, make eye contact, read hustle hut. oh and what i call the booty clap, i learned to do this from that show cathouse on hbo. you bend over a little, i grab the pole, stick your butt out and put your weight in your toes, then move the front or ball area of the foot as if your putting out a cigarette butt on the ground, you know mashing it by moving your foot side to side. do that with both feet at the same time, the butt automatically moves. practice in front of the mirror.

Don't worry so much about what everyone else is doing. Customer interaction is really the key to great tips. Look them in the eye, get up close on stage and snuggle in so they can smell your perfume, create "moments" with each customer. Those things will get them tipping.
    Don't you ever sleep?

Thanks sooo much! I had one girl try to explain that to me, and I had no idea what she was talking about! You're awesome.

Yeah thats the most heard advice I've heard from people on being a new dancer. That and I need to dance 'slow' because it looks more sexy. Theres a lot more to this job then I originally thought, but I like it! Luckily my manager is being easy on me and not fining me for not working atleast four shifts my first week. Is it like that at all clubs?

Very true. Finally finding the confidence to get into this in the first place is a mile stone for me. I guess I need to stop and focus on the positive. It could have been much much worse. Thanks deary.

It's also the thing that a lot of dancers, even after many years, still don't "get".

Clubs all have their own rules. I've not heard that one before but that doesn't mean your club isn't doing it.
