    Default I get so freaking tired

    Hi girls,

    Just got back into dancing again after a long break. I worked last night, started around 10pm and everything was good. But then I got so freaking tired around 1-2pm. It didn't matter how many coffees or red bulls I had, I still couldn't pull myself up! The lack of energy lead to bad hustling which lead to a bad night!

    I only work once a week, so the rest of the week I'll be getting up at 10am and going to bed around midnight.

    What do you girls do?

    Ugh, yeah, that can be hard. It's usually easier to pull something like that off on a friday/saturday night though since they are the busiest. Good luck!

    For me, at least, working only once or twice a week makes my fatigue at work much worse. I'm sure if I did some intense workouts throughout the days off it would help immensely. Otherwise I notice that if I just work 3 or more days a week I don't fatigue as much. So maybe some more endurance building exercise during days off? (Assuming you don't already do this of course!)

    Even though I have to be at work at 7, I don't really start making money until after 10...so I understand trying to keep energized during the downtimes...and I gotta stay alert 'til 2 or 3am, depending on what day it is.

    I get energy by eating small things (banana, yogurt, nuts, cereal bars) every 4 hours AND I drink yerba mate tea...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT...it's a South American tea. It doesn't have a "crack-y" effect. It gives you mind and body energy...excuse the "zen vibe"...but this is difficult to describe. Anyway, do a search on yerba mate tea...well worth it!

    Oh, and I don't drink alcohol while I work 'cuz it makes me sleepy...plus, over time...drinking everyday for a whole shift...don't want to torture my body.

    You might also try keeping close to the same sleep/wake cycle even when you aren't working. Constantly switching back and forth can make it harder to adjust to the late nights.

    Personally, I always go to bed around 2am and wake at 7am. On nights I don't work I take a nap around 6pm and daily short naps at lunch time during my day job. Regular exercise and mealtimes helps a whole lot too.
