Default Throwback Pepsi vs Mexican Coke

I tried Throwback Pepsi this past week and it's definitely more to my liking than HFCS Pepsi. The label says "natural sugar" which doesn't really mean much as technically HFCS is "natural" as well.

I've really cut back on soda drinking, but I had to try this as lately, when I do drink soda it's Mexican Coke in a glass bottle. Pricey, but worth it. And oh so good with a couple of taco truck tacos.

I also saw something called Natural Pepsi, but doubt I will try it.

Anyone else joining the latest battle in the cola-wars?

Mexican Coke is GREAT...why don't they do it here? Is it that much more expensive?

Yes it is. Blame the corn lobby.

I remember when they came out with "New Coke" it was a bust. They claimed to go back to the old Coke but it wasn't, it has no sugar. I taste tested the original Coke against the new old Coke and sugar tastes better then corn syrup.

The expense is one issue, also that the sugar falls out of solution after a shorter time than a liquid sweetener. So it has an earlier expiration date. that's also why diet sodas have a shorter shelf life than "regular" HFCS sodas. They'll develop an "off" taste a lot faster because the sweeteners aren't as shelf-stable as HFCS.
