Default Would you pay for these products?

    Hey girlies!

I'm looking into starting a company that manufactures completely natural cosmetics and beauty products. I would start out with masks, scrubs, bath salts, toners, and possibly- mineral make up.

All of the products would be 100% natural, the ingredients would all be the types of things that are found in our natural beauty threads. They would be shelf stable (probably for not more than 6 months) and very reasonably priced.

Is this something you think that there is a demand for? Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance.

Currently I shop at a local beauty product store that sells stuff similar to this (http://www.tvalskincare.com/) and I love it. The more variety the better when it comes to good quality, good smelling skin care products.

"All Natural" and "Organic" seem to be marketing buzz words which occupy an ever growing segment of the market place. (Even better if you can tie in recycled/environmentally friendly packaging.)

If you can create a quality product that is reasonably priced, you will hopefully do well. Much will depend on the type of volume you will need to sell and your supply/distribution channels. You will need to pick your vendor relationships carefully so as not to tarnish the image your customers will be expecting of your products and company.

    Good luck!

I like the idea of bath salts and masks and scrubs, since there are so many makeup brands doing this "natural" thing already. Having good bath salts and stuff to use and give as gifts would be good, but expanding into makeup might not be as appealing. Most people kind of figured out what makeup they like and with Bare Minerals and all the copycats of that around I don't think people would be as apt to try it.

I know there are laws with the FDA on when the term organic can be used, but not for the term natural. Therefore I have less trust in products that are marketed as natural.

Personally right now the only thing I'd really want is an organic skin firming lotion.

The products would have to really stand out from the bulk of similar products already in existence for me to want to try it. I mean, I could always go down the street to Lush and get something similar, that I know and love. I don't really go out seeking new products and I can't say I'd buy yours based on the description given, unless maybe they were REALLY cheap and REALLY good.

    Yep, I agree.

The only reason I dont buy more Lush is b/c of the price. And we know they put the money where it counts. I dont see how anyone else to be as good as them AND cheaper?

Lush is what popped into my mind as I read the OP. And what they sell at the local natural places - I dont think organic (real organic - not "natural") is cheap to make therefor it wont be cheap to sell.

Oooh! YES! I am a product junkie - especially the stuff you mentioned! Being that the stuff is natural is a great plus!
I would think good marketing, cool website, and pretty packaging would be key. But it sounds like a fun endeavor! Good luck with it and let us know if you decide to do it!

I agree. There are so many out there already. If it was something that was unbelieveable then absolutely.
