    Default X-Stage vs R-Pole

Who has tried both the X-Stage & the R-Pole? I'm curious to know how they compare. I saw the video on YouTube of Felix & Pantera testing out the R-Pole, and I've seen multiple of the X-Stage. Has anyone had a chance to test both of them though? How do they compare in terms of portability, strength etc.?

Well hardly anyone has actually seen the R-Pole IRL. Most people have no idea how it actually works, and they also have not released the price.
I know that the R-Pole has the mats ATTACHED as part of the design.
(on the first release the pole will be one piece too, so hard to transport)

The X-stage IS heavy. but folds right up and fits in the back of your car. I've been to the top and shook the pole, and it feels really stable!

My point is, that we don't know enough about the R-Pole to compare it with anything.

I kept looking at the videos and wondered if the mat was actually attached. I'm thinking there must be a flat weighted base underneath, but I'm not sure. I wrote to the company with questions a few days ago but haven't heard back yet.

I really hope they show at the GC Expo in August! I don't know if I'll be able to make it (I hope so), but even if I don't and they show at least someone will be able to give us more insight!

I love my Platinum Stages pole, I have seen the x-pole on youtube, and it looks pretty similar. Platinum Stages is portable and also has the spin or stationary options. I wouldn't trade it for any other pole. It is however, slightly more expensive than the x-pole.

PS stages were the original stage....and are more than in the ball park! FYI...there is updates in the works!

After talking to Jenyne and Deb Riley...the women who used the R-pole...it is apparently an incredible unit!

Although pricing and release date have NOT been announced yet....they were anticipating June!

Xstage has been reported to be heavier than any stage currently available, and may (depending on person) require more than one person to transport.

^^^ I wouldn't consider PS in the ballpark for what I'm looking for. I want something that isn't restricted by ceiling height... so it could be used in areas with vaulted ceilings or outdoors. Plus, I'd prefer a pole that is very portable. I never liked the square corners on the Platinum Stages either, and that wouldn't be easy to transport. The removable pole still requires a ceiling, and I don't really want to be restricted by that.

I did read what Mary Ellyn wrote on one of the forums (it may have been yours) about the X-Stage's portability. She said it was pretty heavy, but she managed to get it navigated through a staircase in her house without the help of her husband. That's what got me to wondering if the R-Pole would be better.

I still haven't heard back from R-Pole... but it's a holiday weekend so maybe sometime this week.

I'd really like to order the X-Stage or R-Pole before this fall... but I'd like a better idea of how they compare before I do that.

Alena, what all did Deb & Jenyne tell you about the R-Pole? I don't remember what the questions were that I asked them! I'd like to know how heavy the whole unit is those, and if the entire circular base is weighted, as well as how portable that is.

I have had an XStage for about 16 months now. I do love being able to do performances almost anywhere with it. In fact- I did my Vegas America's Got Talent routine on it...never aired.... BUT, I have a prototype which means I didn't get the carrying cases and it sucks not having them. I have had XPole send me Xstages to conventions and man are the cases awesome to have! I honestly haven't been on a completely finished Xstage- only prototypes so don't quote me on this but the pole ALWAYS spins. So, I would never teach on them and felt it a bit dangerous to take to the conventions knowing that first timers are gonna try spinning with all their might and not listen to me...(adult conventions obviously) lol- brought one to the GC Expo last August and the girls that were used to spinners loved it.

Anyway, I got the impression that R-Pole was designed for fitness instructors. So, if that is what you plan to use it for- maybe you should wait?

P.S.- sent R-Pole an email a couple weeks ago and still haven't heard from them so don't feel bad!

^^^ Thanks Nakita!!! Yes, I sort of got that impression about R-Pole too. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who hasn't received a response. I didn't know that the X-Stage can't be put into stationary mode! The X-Stage website says "static and spinning as standard". I wonder if that means that you have to tell them if you want a static pole? I was under the impression that the X-Stage has a spin to lock it... I guess not! I'll try to hold out for the R-Pole release. Maybe by then there will be more opinions.

PS poles can be used on vaulted ceilings, but you have to get a special add on for it. They also have poles with stages that can be used outdoors....don't see why they aren't in the ballpark. Sorry, I just thought that you were looking for a portable pole, was trying to help...they also have round stages if you don't like corners.

The X-Stage has a spinning lock. It's just that the prototypes had some bits that needed ironing out.
Our Prototype was fine with the spinning lock, but we found that the legs kept moving, and the panels fell through on the edges. I've had a go putting together a newer one, and many of the problems with the prototypes were fixed.

It's not a problem... I just know they aren't as portable as what I want since I'd be moving it a lot by myself.

Thanks for telling me that the new one does have the pin for spinning! Are there any things that weren't fixed on the X-Stage that was released?
