Exclamation Have you ever run into somone you know/knew?

Im thinking of becoming a dancer. I have a job where I travel alot and the money used to be good but with the economy being the way it is, there isnt enough work to go around. The problem is, I know alot of guys all around Texas. (I worked in the construction field) And Im so afraid of running into someone I know because it could get around FAST. Guys gossip waaaay more than women! When things pick up again I would like to go back to my regular job.
I was wondering if anyone has run into this dilema and how did you react or avoid it?

I met a few girls from my HS come into my club. They were so supportive and even bought dances from me lol! I just told them to keep it on the low and they have yet to tell anyone. A few of my guyfriends from college comes in and is also supportive.

I think it just depends on how much your friends is willing to support you or not. I mean even if it does goes out, its not like your a teacher and you got your fellow co-workers and students finding out. In the construction field I doubt it would be a big deal. It puts food on your table and keeps your lights on...if they look down on that then screw em! Your doing what you need to do to survive!

Oh yeah. People from HS mostly, but the weirdest for me was my best friend from HS's dad. He was a regular of this dirty dirty dirty little girl who was known for letting guys finger her even on the floor!! And he used to make us take off our makeup before we left his house and pray before snacks!

It's never happened to me because I live in a different area from when I was in high school/college. I don't know anyone in the state I live in so I have no chance of running into someone unexpectedly; everyone I know here knows where I work so there is no surprise.

I ran into someone from my old job a few months into it. I didn't know who they were but they knew who I was. By the next day word was out and I had all sorts of ppl trying to call me out about it. I denied it all. I said it must've been someone else. It was pretty early on so I was really concerned about staying a "closet dancer". While I still care, and I'm not up front about it with people (as in it's not the first thing I say), I decided if this little group had nothing better to do than to talk about me than that was their problem, not mine.

I would say go for it, and to hell with anyone who has a problem. Unless it would be absolutely detrimental to your current job, than I might advise against it if it's somewhere you're planning on staying and even trying to advance in.

Sorry I missed church. I was too busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian.

    .

Oh shit! I forgot that that had happened to me until you posted that- I used to have a sales job and dance like 2 nights a week to supplement my income. My DIRECT manager and a couple of the guys from the other departments came in- it was the day before Thanksgiving so we had all gotten out early. I was promptly fired Monday morning and yipee Fla's f'd laws unable to sue.

I've run into a girl i've known since 4th grade, a former high school crush, and a friends dad. The crush was fun, i danced for him and he went nuts. The buddy's dad was just weird though.

Oh, and a couple coworkers! I've actually danced for everyone that I mentioned except for the dad. They all thought it was hot!
