Do you all recommend a lip aug. (injection) done by a doctor or nurse or either? I've been trying to look up doctors who do lip augmentations in MD, and who have pics on their sites, but I can't find any.

I've never had good luck with lip augs. First I tried the alloderm injections ... but my body metabolized away the filler after a few months. Next I tried fat transplant ... but my body eventually removed that as well ( took a few months longer). Lastly I actually tried a PolyPropylene lip implant ... which was fine for a few years but later poked through the skin and became infected ( I pulled it out myself ! )
PS every lip aug I had hurt like a sunovabich !

nope it healed perfectly ... mostly because I was able to halt the infection immediately, and was careful not to enlarge the skin area where my lip implant poked through the surface. Of course, I also have a license as a respiratory therapist and lots of years of experience with poking around under patients' skin to locate veins and arteries. In this case, the implant was a single piece of round polypropylene tube, so all I had to do was 'latch onto' the protruding end and give a good steady pull with a pair of forceps ( along with downing three shots of Tequila for anesthesia first), and follow up with a course of 'urgent care prescribed' Zithromax antibiotic and some betadine around the protrusion site to kill the infection. Obviously no local 'urgent care' MD was going to touch my lip implant with a 10 ft pole ( for fear of a malpractice suit), and any local plastic surgeon was going to charge me big bucks to 'fix another doctor's problem'.
In reality, this is one of the risks that always seems to go along with 'long distance' plastic surgery. The plastic surgeon in Houston TX who did my polypropylene lip implant and boob job would have definitely taken care of this for 'free' ... but with me living and working in NY at the time, 'free' meant $1500 worth of short notice airline tickets, plus a hotel and rental car bill, plus at least three nights of lost dancing income. Doing it myself thus saved me at least $3000, and actually got the problem / infection treated 2 days sooner (although the treatment was partially self administered LOL)
