Default Favorite City/SC to work at in America

What is your favorite city in which you have worked? Where do you mesh well?

    Mine....

New Orleans, I was sooo in my element here! It is laid back and not so competitive amongst dancers. I love the architecture and culture, it's a little microcosm in the United States!

Least Favorite: Las Vegas, I had to fight tooth and nail to make $ (which you can make alot of!) But I hate all the negative energy here! You have to look your best and be on your A game at all times. I would come back home and feel the sin wash off of me. Everybody here is out for themselves, nobody cares about you.

    Ok, your turn!

Gosh, too many to comb through (12 yrs of touring racks the list up!) but here goes a stab at it:

Although I only spent 4 days there- Fantasies on 5th in Anchorage, Alaska. That was the most sight seeing I have ever done on a feature gig- well, maybe a tie with San Fran and NY. Plus the club was $$$, the management was amazing and the girls were great to me! I would go back there ANY time!

Least: Industrial Strip in Hammond, IN. I have had bad gigs here and there for whatever reasons but this club did everything crappy. Refused to be anything but dicks to me the whole time I was there and I didn't make a dime!

That's my favorite, too--maybe because it's the ONLY city I've ever stripped in. Well, unless you count Metairie. But yeah, New Orleans rules.

Favorite: Tucson and North Dakota. I felt like I was living out what I imagined stripping to be before I ever started. Pleasant customers, tons of compliments, dances easy to sell, low drama.

Least: LA and Vegas. Nuff said!

When it first opened I was offered a job there as a dancer. I knew one of the owners so he offered me a job. At the time I was managing an agency (and still dancing) and refused to leave unless he offered me a management position. He refused. That's the only way I'd work there. The one owner was very sleazy and told me that he didn't care if girls did extras as long as he got his share. There's more to this but I'll just leave it at that.

Isn't it funny that so many girls list Las Vegas as their LEAST favorite???

When I first started I loved dancing in Providence but from what I hear it has totally sleazed out and the money has dried up.

Miami is really good too but can't take the hours/ need to be physically perfect at the moment.

I hated dancing in LA. I lasted about 3 hours. Tanorexia bullshit land of lame-ass fake-os.

Yes I did just type that.

Baltimore. You don't hear much about it on SW (either good OR bad), but...low house fees, very lenient scheduling rules, easy to make money, what more could I want?

^Other than feeling retarded in the other thread, I'm just at home. They sent me home from my day job because I'm tired and diseased. "Go home before you give the kids swine flu or whooping cough," my boss said.

favorite - Edwardsburg MI ( one stoplight town with one club ) ... that attracts vacationing 'whales' from IL / IN / MI. Probably dead as hell this year though after auto / RV industry implosion.

    worst - San Francisco

Why does everybody dislike San Fran? I've heard nothing but awesome things about the Gold Club there....

Vancouver B.C. - I worked there a long time ago even before there was table dancing. It was (still is for the most part) stage only and actually a bit serious like Vegas but you are actually respected and people cared about you.

You had to audition, you had to travel, you had to wear your best outfits in order to get booked. Oh yeah. Did I mention you had to have an agent.

Don't know how it works anymore but some of my fondest stripping memories have been in Vancouver B.C. and I visit and hit up the strip clubs whenever I can.

Others places I loved: Dallas and New Orleans.

Least likable/no monies: Centerfolds in SF. Deja Vu in Lake Forest Park.

Personally, I dislike it because all the clubs take so much of your money. As my roommate and fellow SW'er says, it feels like having a pimp.

Making money was easy there, in my humble experience. But forking over 30, 40, 50% or more to the club (they can randomly decide that you're "not in good standing" and use that as an excuse to take even more from you)...

^^^ I've heard only one other person complain about the "good standing" issue and I believe you are referring to the Deja Vu clubs. I don't know how they could be taking 50% of your earnings when they allow you to up-sell and don't even know what you are earning. All they know is how many dances you had, they don't know what you are charging for them though unless things there have drastically changed. So they are taking $10 from each dance? Big deal.. who cares unless you are not up-selling. Really up-selling is the whole key to most of San Francisco, and it's something a lot of the dancers there either forget or don't realize that they can do.

I hated San Francisco when I first got there... because I didn't know the system. Months later I was on top of the game and LOVED the clubs there.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.
