    Question losing weight fast

    Disclaimer...this is not for those who are healthy healthy people.

    I have been trying to drop about about 10 lbs for the last 3 months. Tried eating healthy (1500 cal/day) and working out with a personal trainer 3x/week plus cardio 1 hour to 80 min 5 days/week, alternating machines and running outside, and intervals and steady cardio (Heart rate bout 150-180 bpm). Dropped calories to 1000/day for 10 days, still no weight lost. Tried doing the 1000, 1200, 1400 alternating cycle. Still no weight lost. Stuck at 150lbs, 24-ish % body fat (113 lbs Lean body mass, all the rest FAT). Already had thryoid checked TSH, T-4, T-3, and all is normal. Not anemic or anything.

    I want to lose weight really fast. I am looking at 5 lbs/week. I need to eat at least once/day otherwise I get super bitchy and don't want to be like that. So, short of Plastic Surgery, starving myself or puking everything up (been there, don't care to revisit) how can I lose weight like that?

    Again, not looking at being super healthy or being preached at. Actually, normally I am the one being preachy. So, moving on from that...Any suggestions?

    Maybe try Medifast? Medifast1.com, I believe. My mom lost 27 pounds the first month with the system, but it was like 300 dollars a month.if money isn't an issue, its worth a try.
    She gained it back though when she quit, but if you transition properly and commit to a lifestyle change you could probably keep it off.

    Anything more than 2lbs a week will not STAY off.

    I can lose 5 lbs in a few hours: here is how you do it: drink two 24 oz bottles of water (each weigh about 2 1/2 lbs) then pee....

    Your body WILL hit plateaus, and they usually last 3-5 weeks. During a plateau you will feel like you are doing EVERYTHING right, but the scale just isn't budging. I hit mine the entire month of February this year...and then right around March 15th voila! Out of NOWHERE 7 lbs melted away after my period.

    Be sure to weigh yourself ONCE a day, preferably in the morning after you have gone to the bathroom and don't have any raw food weight in your stomach. DON'T weigh yourself if you just drank a bottle of water (don't believe me...go weigh a 24 oz bottle of water, it's roughly 2 lbs) I have a calendar in my bathroom and I write it down every day. I can easily see the bloat from my monthly cycle (and the subsequent drop when i get it) I can also see the effects of drinking alcohol and eating salty foods.

    1200-1500 calories is a good target. Do you actually write EVERYTHING down? For me it was the difference between having a Zone bar or protein shake on the way home from work. Thats 200 calories. Once I cut it out, it only took 2 weeks to see the scale drop.

    I've been at this size for the past 3-4 months. I write it all down, including my sticks of gum. I am thinking of just shocking my body into it, which is why I asked for any quick weight loss tips.

    I don't think it's a plateau-My body just loves it fat. My brain doesn't. I've given up on the 12-1500 calorie way-hasn't worked (see original post).

    You just have to eat less than the ammount you burn off. So alot of cardio and eat as few calories as you can (not surviving on letuce and water though) Try google..there are so many different diets out there. From google..

    phentermine. i dropped down to 127 on a 5'9 frame and i LOVE it. I havent been this weight since my early 20's (im 27 now) anyways yeah its not healthy but it made me lose 15 pounds soo fast. i love it.

    Britney is right that 2lbs a week is considered healthy. Anything more than that and chances are that you are actually losing muscle. I have lost almost 5 lbs in a week naturally though while still eating, but it was on a very strict diet that most people don't seem to be able to stick to on their own. I actually lost 30 lbs in a month and a half. You have to really have to want to lose the weight to stick to the diet though.

    I would normally get preachy here but you said you didn't want that. Try the master cleanser diet. You'll shed pounds like crazy if you stay on it long enough. I don't think the eat one meal a day thing you're proposing is a good plan. Whatever caloric intake you're going to do with the one meal, spread it out over the day, like in 3-5 meals. Drink lots and lots of water. Eat raw fruits and vegetables. Good luck.

    Um cleansers are pretty unhealthy and you won't keep the weight off.

    How long have you been sticking with one diet at a time? You have to stay on a good diet for at least a month before you're going to see the full benefits.

    What's an example of a typical day of eating for you? Try protein shakes as meal replacements once or twice a day. They keep you full for a long time and you can blend in vegetables to get nutrients, and add a banana or other fruit to mask the flavor.

    My husband and I have a diet that we use every now and then to drop fat, but it's kind of extreme to most people. The best part about it is you lose very little muscle, because if you lose both fat and muscle you're going to look worse than if you just lose fat.

    It's a liquid diet with 4 solid meals a month. Sounds crazy but it's a hell of a lot healthier than starving yourself or doing that stupid lemonade diet (no one will ever convince me that drinking sugar somehow "cleanses" your body)

    For your weight, you'd eat 1350 calories a day. Those calories would consist of protein shakes (look for protein with casein if you can find it because it will help you feel full)

    You also add a tablespoon of nut butter each day. Either peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, whatever. Just make sure that the total calories for the day don't go over1350. You should be drinking a shake every 3 hours or so during the day, depending on the calorie content of your protein powder.

    If you do it, get some of the fruit flavored fiber chews and chew 2 or 3 of them a day, they'll help you get over the weird feeling of not chewing anything and keep you regular. Also, drink lots of water.

    The diet lasts for 28 days, every seven days you have ONE meal. It has to be healthy, like some grilled chicken and a big salad with lots of veggies. What this will do is train your body to crave healthier foods even when you're done with the diet.

    Last time I did it, I lost 15 pounds in the 28 days. My husband did it for 2 weeks a couple months ago and he lost 10 pounds. We lift weights, and this is something that we do when we start a cut to really help us lean out. It sounds crazy, but you'll be getting enough calories and nutrients to stay healthy, and it really strips the weight off of you.

    Hardcore cardio is a bad idea during it, because it'll make you hungrier and you might feel faint, but walking should be done every day for at least a half hour, although, if you're dancing you'll probably be getting plenty of exercise.

    Another tip, if you're absolutely dying on this then have a diet soda a day, or a couple of sugar free hard candies, just try not to overdo it because the sugar free stuff will make you bloat up while you're on this.

    Also, for anybody who does try it, don't go past the 28 days. If you want to do two cycles, then give yourself a month of regular healthy eating in between, this isn't meant to be a long term eating plan.

    Oh, also, you can use fat burners while you're on this. It will help your results. I don't personally use them because I'm way too sensitive to them so I probably could have lost more than 15 pounds if I had used them.

    I'm spreading my "one meal a day" over the whole day...so 3-5 teensy-tiny "meals". One of them is a protein shake, one a pre-packaged meal that is low in sodium, one a glass of soy milk, and then some veggies and after dinner a 100-cal bag of popcorn. In addition, I am working our for an hour a day; sometimes weights, sometimes kickboxing, sometimes walking, sometimes elliptical.

    Plus, I'm going to a Doctor today...We'll see what he gives me. I've been told by another doctor in the same office that they don't give out diet drugs (phentermine, etc) to ppl who are under 100 lbs overweight. Im def. not that (wanting to get down to pre-baby weight) but maybe this doctor can be swayed to my point of view...you never know! Thank you all for your ideas!

    Hate to say it, but I hate most vegetables raw (except Jicama, Tomatoes, Lettuce, and Carrots). IDK, maybe I'll try it neways.

    BTW, Doc didnt give me anything-Just looked at me like I was some sort of drug addict! Then, she ordered blood tests done on me-6 Vials worth! I couldn't believe it. Whatever...I'm clean and I know it. Maybe Ill ask for a referral for an off-base diet doctor or nutritionist.

    They probably just took the blood to see what all of your vitamin levels are at and to test things like your thyroid.

    They already did that; I am on thyroid medication already, and am measured monthly for that. Vitamin levels I could def. understand

    Well, if you already know that you have thyroid problems than what works for other people probably won't work for you. You really need to speak to a nutritionist that has experience dealing with thyroid issues. I talk about this a little in my blog, but if you do have thyroid problems be sure not to consume much soy since there are still debates that it possibly has bad effects for people with thyroid issues.

    well I eat soy mayb once a week, but I drink soy milk. Dont eat raw kale, only cooked, maybe 2-3 times a month. Going to a nutritionist next week. Hope it works for me!

    In a bid to lose 2 dress sizes for my bday at the end of oct im being quite strict. I was at a festival last week and weighed myself when i got back and id lost 5 pounds! I swear this was from all the walking and dancing i did. Foodwise i had a breakfast bar in the morning and noodles or somethig similar for dinner. I was drinking quite bit though so i wasnt being healthy.
    Anyway i seem to have lost my appetite and am having 2 meals a day(breakfast and dinner) I am chewing a lot of sugarfree gum and drinking water and its not that im starving myself( i treated myself to a choccy bar) im just not hungry.
    Portion control has always been my prob so i have been splitting my dinner in half and eating it that way. For exercise i am dancing like a mad woman for 45 mins daily lol
    My typical meal;
    Bowl of bran flakes and semi skimmed milk
    glass of oj
    lots of water
    rye sandwich or salad with tuna
    fruit

    Thanks girls! I didnt like the nutritionist I saw...she was an on-base doctor, and they don't have a ton of experience (enlisted: E-3). She just gave me a print out that she pulled from a folder-asked me how much I want to eat-1500 or 1800 cal/day, and pulled a menu out of a manila folder. Yeah....I'm not following that. I could get a menu like that out of Shape or Fitness magazine.

    So, I called some off-base nutritionists (Thanks Kylea!) and am going to see one July 3-she wants me to keep a week-long journal of what I normally eat (something the on-base one didn't even ask for).

    I always hated the doctors on base! Actually, I think most doctors are a waste. There are very few that I trust. They always want to think everything is psychological... and act surprised when they find out that it's not.

    Right now I have two doctors I trust, neither of which handles nutrition.

    By the way, who did you call? Let me know how it works out.

    I was thinking about giving a raw diet nutritionist a call... but if I could give up chocolate & cheese I would think hell had frozen over. Well, we shall see.
