Default Wanting information on this style of dancing...

Sorry if this is in the wrong folder. Not really sure where to put it.

There is a type of dancing I seen on T.V. a long time ago and it involved a woman dancing with two huge sheets of fabric...something like curtains...she was climbing up them and twirling and doing all sorts of fun stuff. Does ANYONE out there know what the hell I am talking about?? I have tried to find out what this is and where I can get more info on it and Im coming up emtpy handed.... halp !!

Yes, that's aerial acrobatics, or aerial performance, however you want to look at it. There's actually a strip club in town that has an aerial performer, which is freakin' awesome. It's becoming a more popular art form; check out angelsintheair.com for a troupe that does this. Aerialangels.com I think is another one. I think you can probably find some sort of class, if you're in a major city.

I've trained in aerial fabric a.k.a. silks a.k.a. tissu. It's called a lot of things as you can tell. It's often seen in Cirque Du Soliel. Its normally not seen in strip clubs, but every once in awhile a dancer will do it in a club - typically a feature performer though. Where are you from? We might be able to help you find a trainer.

    Here's another starting resource:

That is known as tissu or silks and is on par with trapeze.
