I'm going to assume you mean like Jessica Simpson selling proactive?
In that case, no, I do not buy products just b/c a famous person endorses the product.

hell no. drives the price up.
i'll buy something if it's a good product. proactive is good, but i bought it originally because it was recommended to me by a friend, and it ended up being too strong.
word of mouth is a much better recommendation.

LoL. No. Why would I?

No, but I trust the opinions of my friends.
Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

still hypothetical!
The reason I ask is there was a program that had been devised to sell lingerie to strippers and waitresses but specifically strippers and hooters girls. They wanted to terrify girls who fit thsi category and then have someone step up and seem like they would be their hero and really care for protectign women and then have the whole scenario sponsored by victoria's secret models so the masses of girls who strip and serve at hooters would become walking and talking promoters of these so called heroes.
What they were going to do was set up some guys making them look guilty of crimes against women and then bust them and have a huge celebration partly sponsored by victoria's secret lingerie. What they were kepping a secret is that victoria's secret had been involved in funding the girls becoming vicitms in the first place and helped the real criminals escape justice and continue down their path possibly to commit more well placed crimes against women at a later date.
Now this hypothetical situation was not planned only to be funded by victoria's secret, but also some other high profile companies desiring to get in on the opportunity to be part of an incredibly emotional issue and hope to build their customer base. It is just that it seemed like possibly a great way to push these models into other lines of work after they were to leave victoria's secret.
If you knew a company was funding this type of marketing program to gain your business would you buy from that company? And if you knew someoen launched their career by using this issue to make themselves look like heroes for busting the wrong guys, would you buy anything they were selling?

I really titled the thread wrong. I did not mean to atack the method of using fame to promote products. I am not biased towards famous people, but I do not think a person's fame drives up the price of a product. Normally the prices named after famous people or promoted by famous people are priced competitively and in the majority of cases their name and celebrity attracts attention in advertisements and on the shelves so in the case of increased expense, there is usually a fair return on the investment. Sometimes the name can even cause an awesome return on investment. That is not the point I was making, I meant to post what I posted above.
If they need a celebrity to boost sales I cannot help but question how well the product works.
I dont really like any celebrities enough to buy any of their products let alone the ones they endorse.

Uh,
People mention being annoyed by trolls on this website and this thread had to be written by someone looking to profile strippers. No offense to the guy who claims to be the author of this post, but this literalyl sounds like there is no way it came straight out of a novel. The style is obviously that of a person who no idea where and how to focus your attention to draw you into the story. Anyway I don't know why this post was put on this board, and I would think that writer has something better to do than to write such descriptive fiction on a message board.
