Default have you heard of mint.com?

"Mint.com is a free service created by Aaron Patzer. Mint provides through a deal with . Mint's primary service allows for users to track bank, credit card, investment, and loan transactions and balances through a single user interface.
Mint has garnered media coverage from a number of blogs and media outlets such as the , GigaOM, VentureBeat, the Orlando Sentinel, and ."

My brother recommended it to me, he said he read about it in the NYtimes.

I was wondering if anyone else here uses it, or has used it before? It looks pretty helpful, but I'm a bit wary of sharing my financial information over the internet. Especially with people supposedly providing the service for "free".

^^^ basically, such websites are 'front doors' to online financial services / accounts that you could access separately and directly. IMHO it introduces an extra layer of INsecurity, while providing little if any benefit.

We use mint.com and recommend it. It links all your financial accounts in one location for easy review and is a simple way to see where your money is going each month, i.e. trending. But like Melonie mentioned, they are a "read-only" service (all the info they provide you can get from your other online accounts separately)

As far as security issues, they use the same levels of encryption that bank sites use (meaning if a hacker could access sensitive info from mint.com they could probably get it from the bank or cc company also). You only provide the mint.com with your email address and zip code. No personal info like name or SS#
