Thumbs down So frustrated and I need to vent

Maybe I was riding on the coattails of the "new girl, fresh meat", maybe I came in on a lucky week. But the past few days have been so disappointing and I'm ready to find another club. I don't want to leave per se because it's such a great working environment and I don't lose that much $ to work, but I need to also work somewhere else.

Where the hell is the $ in NYC and how do we all find it?

    Thanks for letting me rant!

    when did you start dancing?

maybe you should try scoping out hustle hut, or just working your game a little more. i did the same thing, my first few weeks were GREAT, and then it dropped off. you'll have REALLY BAD weeks in this buisness, just like you'll have really good ones, it's never consistent.

just keep trying and you'll get it! good luck babe!!

you cant realy work at club for a week have a bad few days and then write it off! you will never find a club where you never have a bad night or a bad few days, most clubs slow down around the middle of the month!

Also remember that we are in summer, which tends to be the slow season.

Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

slow meaning less than $200? the meaning of that varies sooo much..i read threads and i see posts where girls say that on a terrible night they did 100 or 200, but i'd honestly be okay with that per night. not saying its great but that that amount would be satisfactory for me.

im in a club that is getting ready to close down and the money has gone out the door..

i came home with $17 after tip out tuesday night to me thats not worth shaking and showing my ass for a 9 hour shift...

i dont even know now if im going to go to another club because if its anything like the one im at its not worth it i might as well go waitress or something

the money has never really been in the club though the most ive probably made is 350 in a night so i guess it really just depends if the money is in the club and you know people are spending thats one thing but if its the type of club where the most people u get in a night is around 25 (like my club) i would find somewhere else

If you are new then you are going to have to learn to get used to the bad times too... This job has highs and lows.

If you really think that its just your club and not the economy, an unusually slow week, or maybe you just being a bit off your game, then i would try to leave and set up a potential for a return. Unless you really hate where you are, i wouldnt burn any bridges. For instance, say something like you really like dancing but you are struggling to manage it with the new hours at your day job and you think you might need to take a hiatus until you are more settled; or something to that effect. That leaves the option of a return open.

Right? I don't believe in this "good season/bad season" stuff. I make consistant money throughout the year. The only "bad" times are when the snow is sooo bad people can't make it to Reno but when that happens I cant make it there either so I never see the bad times - only hear about them. Of course everyone has good/bad days, weeks but I don't blame that on "seasons" - typically I can find the reason within myself - stress usually kills my money making skills.

TO the OP - just stick it out chica! One week is nothing. Keep track of your earnings - I would give the club 6-8 weeeks THEN go scope out some others.

I am actually dealing with this exact same issue this week. It's my second week dancing, and I love the club I'm in (everyone's really nice, it's a clean safe environment, etc). The first week, even as a wobbling newbie, I was making $200+ per night. Now this week I barely made $100 the first night and about $70 the second. That's not bad, but it's definately the money I was bringing in my first week. The second night this week I got really scared because the club was 2 hrs to close and I hadn't made house+tipout yet (thank goodness for late-night customers). I've had to work really hard not to get discouraged, but my therapist told me that it's important to remember that in *any* new skill there's a learning curve of 6 months before you start to consistently see results. So, don't beat yourself up over it (customers won't like the bruises, lol). ^_^ See how the next few weeks go and if you're seeing consistent bad results, then go looking for a new place. Otherwise, on the bad nights, take a deep breath and tell yourself that you're beautiful and they don't know what they're missing. Hope things get better! *Hugs!*

Actually fall and winter are typically better. The problem with summer is that in most cities their is so much for people to do, and more people are out clubbing, going to concerts, festivals etc. So they get tired during the day and don't stop in the clubs as much.

Winter you have to deal with the weather, but the guys know that typically they'll enjoy the SC more than going out clubbing because there aren't as many women willing to brave the snow and go to the clubs. Not to mention that usually dancers don't like to brave the bad weather so the few that do show up have less competition.

I agree with you guys but the O.P. said she's losing money towork. I would never dip into my personal money to work. If I'm not making money I will still tip the Security/ dj and house fee but flat out will not pay houise. It's the club's responsiblity to advertise and my responsibility to dazzle and entertain their clients. If no one comes in the door, heck I still did my job.

yea i get really salty when i have to pay the house if they are unable to bring in customers. If only 3 customers walk through the door all night when there are more girls than that working, then i should not be paying the house. I am paying them to let me work there because it is a location where i can make my own money. If it is not possible to do that (and there are some occasions where it really isnt possible) then they are not providing that service.

Our club has started demanding house fees when we walk in the door though. Some nights girls would bitch that hte club wasnt doing a good job advertising when there was money to be made and refused to pay. These girls would rack up quite a tab so the club started charging the fees before we work to prevent this.

lecournoir and atleastonce, the syndrome you are experiencing may indeed be the 'fresh meat' scenario. During your first week of dancing in your clubs, customers were essentially 'buying blind' in regard to buying private dances and VIP from the 'new girl' ... with nothing to go on regarding the levels of contact / 'extras' you were willing to provide etc. However, a week later, it's possible that some of your early private dance and VIP customers have had time to talk with other club customers either directly or via club review websites in regard to how much 'bang for the buck' they actually received. You may want to look over customer comments for your club on stripclublist.com etc to see if you have been mentioned !

In places like NYC where there is no shortage of 'replacement' dancers available, flat out refusing to pay house fees (even though doing so would put you in the red for the night) simply won't fly if you want to continue dancing at 'upscale' clubs. While they would never admit it, charging high house fees but allowing dancers to keep nearly 100% of private dance money is a tactic deliberately employed by 'upscale' clubowners to encourage marginal earning dancers to leave the club of their own accord (thus making room for more 'fresh meat').

It depends on where you're located. In MN winters are slower, while in Fargo summers are slower. It depends on the culture and entertainment in a given area.

Oh, and I looked up the reviews for my club on stripclublist.com HILARIOUS. Apparently girls are getting fingerbanged on the floor I wonder what people get out of making this shit up.
