    Default Hot rollers

So I used my friends, theyre a few years old but I left them to heat up for ages and i left them in my hair till they were cold and put on some hairspray and I loved how it looked for about half an hour but then they just dropped out to these ugly waves..ok well they werent ugly but I dont like me with wavy hair. I usually use curling tongs and the curls stay but I preferred the look I got with the hot rollers so I dont get why it wouldnt stay? I was thinking of buying some of my own perhaps theyd heat up more or something..?

When I use hot rollers, I put product in my hair before blow drying, and then also while I'm putting the rollers in. Before drying, I use a root booster, just so that the finished look is big and sexy. When I use the rollers I put a curling spray on each section.

^^ what she said lots of product before drying hair, product before rolling and I tease the hell out of the base of each section before rolling them AND then after they cool, before removing spray the hell out of them, remove, spray the hell out of them.

Sometimes if you have long, heavy hair the weight will pull the curl out... but if you have tons and tons of product you can combat that.

I wear extensions..I dont mind there being less curl at the bottom I really want the volume at the top (I have shorter layers so less pull i hope) So are hot rollers not a replacement for heated curlings tongs..cause I use them daily but I dont think using lots of product daily is good?

If you are really just worried about the top then before you roll the sections tease the hair with the small end of the comb. The correct way to backcomb your hair can be seen here

I see lots of girls that backcomb incorrectly and it doesn't stay... this is how I do mine and about 1/2 the girls at works hair too... it looks silly before you smooth it but it will stay for days.

If you have extensions I wouldn't use a ton of product... since youre more worried about the top staying than the curl at the bottom you really need the teasing more than product.
