Hello ladies. I want to become a dancer but I dont know how to start!! What do I say when I come in if I want to audition?? Do I call first?? Ask for a manager right when I come or pay the cover and wait a while? Ask the front desk lady? What should I say?? Ive never danced before, I'm 19 yrs old.,and i dont know if i should just be like "i would like to audition".... what are the best times to go?? Thank you!!!

I called a lot of places first and am glad that I did because I didn't know he hiring laws in LA in regards to serving alcohol...

But calling hasn't helped me get any jobs. I'm working at two clubs and I didn't call either of them, just showed up and said I wanted to audition and they both hired me on the spot and had me work that night. From my experience they'll just tell you to come in... I called one club and he told me he wasn't sure if he was hiring he would need to see me, so I went in. He told me they had amateur nights on Monday (it was a Wednesday) but that I could start working day shifts and move to night shifts... so IMO calling is pointless.

If the club is open during the day, go in the afternoon. It's usually not busy so you won't have to audition dancing in front of a bunch of people and not as many girls will be working. If it doesn't open until the evening, get there pretty close to opening because it won't be super busy and not as many girls will be there.

Most clubs around here make you valet park, but when I've told the valet "I'm hoping to audition" they either haven't charged me or told me somewhere else I could park. There's usually a bouncer at the front door checking IDs before people can walk in so just tell them you want to audition and would like to speak to the hiring manager. I haven't been charged a cover fee ever for auditioning. Make sure you have your ID with you or they won't even let you inside.

Be ready to audition on the spot (have your hair and make up done, clothes in your bag) and don't bring a ton of stuff with you (really easy and fast way to make a bad impression with the girls at your club). Know what song you want to dance to, even if you haven't danced before or practiced to a song but know the beats in it will make it a lot easier to dance to.

I recommend calling first. Sometimes clubs only have 1 manager that does the hiring. Just call and ask when you can come in to audition and if there are any costume requirements. Depending on where you live some places make you wear two g-strings, some require thongs, etc. It's good to know that ahead of time.
    Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

call to ask when they accept auditions and ask what you need to wear. Then show up at the given time looking nice with your gear in a bag and say you are there to apply.

Remember your ID. This might seem trivial and obvious, but one time my friend and i went to audtion at a club and she forgot her id and we had to drive an hour back to her house to get it. It could be easy to forget when you get all of your other stuff together.

Check their website first for information -- my club says specifically not to call and to just come in.
