    Default red skin

I tried searching to no avail so maybe one of you ladies can help me out. My skin is always red, always. The rest of my skin is pale, but my face is always beaming red. Any foundation I use wears off after an hour or so aroung my nose, chin, and upper forehead and I am left with skin colored greasy looking foundation and bright red nose chin and forhead. I am so sick of covering up the red, I want the red GONE! Any help, suggestion, anything.

Try using a makeup fixative and toning down the red with a green concealer before you put your makeup on. You should be able to find all of those at a theatrical costume or makeup store.

Why don't you see a dermatologist? The redness could be caused by a number of ailments, including rosacea. Ideally, you could treat the redness--and then you wouldn't have to worry about covering it up.

Hun i have the exact same problem. First thing would be see a dermatologist. I'm obviously no professional but just girl to girl here's what works for me..

For makeup: Maybelline green concealer stick. I apply a little where redness is and then blend with max factor stick concealer, and then on top of that I put Max Factor liquid foundation and pat with maybelline loose powder. It works pretty well, doesn't feel too heavy, and stays well as long as I don't touch my face. However, it does make me look paler than i already am and I have to be careful to cover all the green.

I haven't heard a bad thing about Bare Minerals, & lasering is supposed to work really well.

I've been looking at Milk of Magnesia and jojoba oil to reduce redness. They're supposed to work extremely well. Jojoba oils can be picked up at GNC, and Milk of Magnesia, not the most conventional use of a laxative, can be used on your face at night. Here's what i found :

After you wash your face at night, use MOM (be sure you get the Regular kind, not the flavored). Shake the bottle well and either using your fingers or a cotton ball, spread MOM thickly all over the affected area. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes until it is completely dry, then rinse well. Use your regular moisturizer. By morning you'll be shocked at how much the redness has diminished.
