    Default Moisturizing with Oil

So for the past two days I've been moisturizing with baby oil after I get out of the shower..I'm the softest i've ever been, but I've heard it's really not that good for you because it's petroleum. I'd hate to have my skin any other way, does anyone have any alternatives or thoughts on the baby oil ?

I can't stand the smell of babyoil, but I do like the softness of moisturizing with oil after a shower, as I have perpetually dry skin. I use vaseline's cocoa butter body oil gel, it smells great, and really moisturizes. Sometimes, I'll just use straight grapeseed oil, the kind you get in the grocery store. It's what I use to wash my face with, along with a little castor oil (the Oil Cleansing Method) and I absolutely love it. But as far as body oils go, I like the cocoa butter oil gel better, because it smells sweeter and nicer

I use coconut oil for a body moisturizer and jojoba for my hair and face. They're great!!!

Try grapeseed oil! I started using it on my face maybe a year ago and the fine lines around my eyes (I'm only 27 but I drank and smoked a LOT when I was younger and plus I used to be a crackhead so I aged a lot really early) disappeared! Grapeseed oil is full of antioxidants and it really does something to the skin. Tip-keep it in the fridge and the coolness helps tone down puffiness as well.

Stick with any food-grade oil- olive, jojoba, grapeseed, almond, coconut or avocado. And if you don't like the smell, add a few drops of an essential oil, Ylang Ylang is nice, so are the citrus ones. Apply them right after the shower while you're still damp & they soak right in. I've been doing this for the last 5 yrs & my skin is incredible! I look better naked at 40 than I did at 25!

Would doing this aggravate or cause acne?

No. Well.. obviously I can only speak for me, but no.

I suffered from bad acne for many years and eventually I discovered I had celiac disease and gluten in my diet was causing the skin outbreaks. Now, as long as I keep my diet clear of gluten and other aggravating foods (I've also found chickpeas, certain teas and too much dairy breaks me out), I can pretty much smother my face in oil and not break out.

I don't even use traditional lotion anymore, just the oil. At night I slather it on, and in the day I put it on and then soak up the excess with a tissue. Then put on powder/foundation or whatever.

My bottle of EVOO ran out a few weeks ago. My skin was still doing ok so I didn't think much of buying anymore at the time. I woke up a week ago with an awful breakout (it had to do with where I was sleeping) and my exczema returned at the same time. I bought a bottle of EVOO and in two days time it calmed my skin down immensely.

I don't think I'll use anything else (I will try the other oil just to switch it up a bit) other than changing my diet up. Lately I've been eating like shit and I know that had something to do with the breakout also.

The natural oils shouldn't cause breakouts if they're not applied heavily. They closely resemble our boidies own sebum, so they should pretty much soak in. If you look greasy when you're done applying, either your skin wasn't damp enough or you're applying too much at a time.
PleasureVictim, black soap & shea butter are really good for eczema, too. But don't get the yellow or the white shea butter, they're chemically enhanced. Get the cream colored variety.

If your not looking to get pregnant try evening primrose oil, bought at gnc, and vitamin e oil caplets. Moisten from the inside. I get carded for lotto tickets.

I've been using the vaseline gel oil-works very well and is non-greasy.

In the summer I hate feeling extra oil on my skin so I started a new routine. In the shower just before I get out I take a handful of kosher salt and add a bit of oil then scrub everywhere replenishing oil and salt as needed. Then I rinse well and get out and dry off to super smooth, moisturized, glowing skin with no residue. Your towel will get gunky and the shower will be slick so be careful if you do it.
